When you read the article you see that she lost 170+ lbs by diet and exercise, and then had gastric bypass.

There are some really ignorant people in the world, and they all seem to know how to operate a computer. I made the mistake of reading the comments, and several people said "I don't anybody who weighs over 200 pounds and is a size 12" Ok why would this woman lie. She use to weigh 500 pounds, it's takes great courage to lose that amount of weight. and trust me you don't do it by lying to yourself or anyone else. If she says she is size 12 I believe her.
I pray she has continued success on her Journey and keeps the weight off!
Very inspirational. Despite being so excessively, she did the "impossible." I really like the way she went about losing the weight.

Exactly and she could still have a lot of skin. Some people don't think before they type.

I'm really happy for her, but I don't believe a 5'4" woman is a size 12 at 200+ lbs with all that skin.
I'm 5'8" and size 12 is like 160.

I'm 5'9" and 200lbs is right at a size 12 for me. 5'4", idk. Some people have small frames. I also don't see why she would lie at this point about her size.

I am really happy for her, it took a lot of discipline to lose the initial weight. As for her claims of being a size 12, I believe her. She has a LOT of loose skin, which would make her to appear larger than she really is. So, she probably really doesn't weigh 216. Just looking at her she seems like she may have 20-30lbs of extra skin that needs to be removed.

Yeah I was sort of miffed by some of the comments as well. But I applaud the way she lost the weight. She took it a minute and a day at a time. She said she would move for 1 minute, because at the time that was all she could do! Just think about it?! 1 minute?! and then she worked up to 2, then 5 and then 30 to 45. That is True Grit right there!

I'm 5'0 and when I went to college I was a size 12 and 175-180 pounds. I am now 223 and a 16. It is possible that she is a size 12. We are all built differently. I have a friend who is 5'6 230 pounds and a size 12-14. Her tummy is flat, but she has breasts, hips, butt and thighs.
