I've been unemployed for some months and during that time I lost a little over 30 pounds. But prior to my layoff I bought a bunch of clothes in my old size of 16/18.

So Sunday, I decided to go to church and I'm SWIMMING in all of my slacks, shirts, skirts, etc. (most of those clothes are a size 16/18). Even my belts are too big.

Now, I can't afford to buy new clothes because I'm unemployed....:wallbash:

AND I have a BUNCH OF CLOTHES, I can't do anything with. (sigh)

Thank you for listening to my rant. :drunk:

I know the feeling. Be thankful for you weight loss though, focus on that. Congrats!!

Belts and tailoring might be your friend until you can get some new clothes.

Trust me ladies, I will take the weight loss over fashion anyday. It just gets a little aggrevating. But I'm on ebay to see if I can find some clothes for under $20/piece.

Same problem here. I lost 20lbs and the only thing that fits me now are my leggings:perplexed. I can't afford a damn thing so I'm been looking kind of rough the past few weeks.:nono: Hopefully next month I can do a little bit of shopping, just for the basics.

Oh, cry me a river. Just kidding!!!! I am so hating right now! ;)

But seriously though.... my advice is to hit up your nearest thrift/consignment store, because you can find some super cute dresses/blouses/pants/etc for reaalllly cheap! Some of my favorite pieces of clothing are from second-hand shops! Take those suckers right to the dry cleaners.... and you've got a whole new wardrobe for under $100. Cant beat that (not even at my fav discount store, Marshalls).

HATERS sheesh~~~ LOL!!!

Thanks, I'm going to go to the "money" areas and see what they have. It'll be good to have some name brand stuff for nothing!

I agree, check thrift stores. Also, there is an organization called Dress for Success that I used to be involved with for a short period of time. They provide business appropriate clothing for women who can't afford to just go to the store and buy a suit. Suits, dresses, business-casual wear, they have a lot of stuff. Google the company and see if there's one in your area. You could donate the clothes that no longer fit, and get new job friendly clothes that do fit :)

and CONGRATS on the weight loss! that's an amazing accomplishment.

LOL!! I'm actually selling the name brand clothes on ebay. Some of the stuff I haven't even worn yet, because I am unemployed.

But if you are interested. PM and we can probably work something out......

If you can sew, why not try taking them in yourself?

Congrats on your weight loss! I say take them in (IF possible--some things just won't work), or trade 'em in at consignment for new clothes....

I wish you the best in your search!

Thrift stores is where its at! I find them to be better than most mall stores anyways. And alter some of your clothes if you have a sewing machine :)

Have you thought about selling some clothes, or consigning them? Then use that money to replenish your closet.
