Hello all,

I really would like to get in shape...BUT...the last time I started working out...I began to lose weight...and although I want to be in tip top shape...I do no want to be really thin...I absolutely love my curves...Ideally, I want my body to look exactly the same...just toned...I mean...what good is a flat stomach if the booty is just as flat??

So I guess my question is...does anyone have advice on how to get in shape/tone up without losing weight??

One person suggested protein shakes...but idk which one to purchase (there are sooo many and afterall, I dont want to buy one and it has adverse affects)

All my older friends suggest that I allow my body to be as thin as can be because of how aging affects womens bodies...but I just dont feel sexy without a lil sumthin...

Given what your goals are it's hard to say. You may have to go thru a period of slight weight loss and then muscles fills in and tones. Have you ever been in optimum, toned shape?
Sometimes it takes a little bit to see which way the body wants to go.
In my case, I lose and tone, and based on my weight, my little stomach pouch is the last thing to go. This has happened to me each time. Focus on getting active, then start the tweaking as you see results.

Lift heavy:grin: You will not only boost your curves but add new ones:grin: Make sure you are eating .8 grams of protein per pound of Lean Body Mass per day (you need to know your body fat percentage to do that).

Use lighter (not 3 or 5lbs lol but real weights that add a challange) weights for areas you don't want to build up. You should get a good burn between 15 and 20 reps, but should be able to do no more than 20.

Use heavy weights (weights that let you complete 8-12 reps but no more than that) if you're trying to add some bulk to the booty. The big apple bottoms we so covet are 90% muscle, 10% fat. That's the kind you want (You want it to still stand up perky whe you lie down:grin:) so you'll need heavy weights to get it/keep it.

the end of the day you will only lose weight if you have a calories deficit, so - eat more! Although you may find smaller curves suit you just fine since few people lose all their curves from weight loss, especially if you follow kbragg's plan

Hey girly: I'm trying to find that same balance.

I just started a program last week where I did a set of walk/sprints. Basically it'll incorporate running which I know tones my arms, abs, and legs real well but hopefully without losing mass. You should join me! I plan to do them 1-2X a week.

And additionally, I did some strength training for the lower body w/ heavier weights (100lbs+) to maintain mass as well. I really want to find something that will tone my chest w/o adding bulk to shoulders and arms and w/o losing titty fat.

Oh and I wouldn't do protein shakes...they go straight to the gut.

Too bad we don't just lose body fat from certain areas.:ohwell:
So many women want to keep the big boobies and rear, but they
do get smaller as you lose bodyfat.
Running, walking inclines and squats should get and keep that lower
half toned/shapely/tight. Take those hip measurements and start a
regimen.
- Good luck-

Resistance training. It's MUSCLE that gives you that tight toned look, not a lower number on the scale. You can strengthen/improve your muscle mass without increasing it - esp. as a woman. kbragg broke it down real nice.

I'm such a BFL pimpette - but check out BodyForLife.com - it's designed to do exactly that - make you TIGHT without going straight/angular.

Running makes you lean - but not always tight - if you are already 'light', all that cardio is going to burn fat, and if you are dieting along with it, possibly some muscle mass - so you'll be smaller, but might not be tighter.
