This is Challenge number 5 :dance7:

Congrats to everyone who completed Challenge 4 :clap:

Challenge Date: August 24- September22

Last Day to join August 30

This challenge will be a little different than the others. The other challenges required you to focus on one JM DVD (30 day shred), this time you have the option of chossing. This is two seperate challenges in one! I know some people really liked the structure of the challenge, therefore I didn't want to take that away from them. While others wanted something new. I hope I came up with a happy medium for all. :)

There are two groups

Group 1: Jillian Michael 30 day shred (ONLY) http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/dp/B00127RAJY

Group 2: Your choice of any JM DVD's (this is only for those that plan on mixing DVD's or doing a DVD other than 30 day shred)

Group 1

RULES

1. 7 workouts per every 10 days. MANDATORY!!

2. Every 10 days we will increase the level. There are 3 levels.

3. 20 mins of Cardio (of your choice) 5 days per week.

Timeline
Level 1: August 24-sept 2
Level 2: Sept 3- -12
Level 3: Sept 14-22



Group 2

Rules

Since the other DVD's are longer (which is double the workout and a bit more strenuous on your joints if you do it too often, I believe), I had to create seperate rules.

1. Workout at least four times a week MANDATORY!!

2. 20 mins of cardio (of your choice) 5 days per week

Important
For those doing the BFBM, It will only be accepted as your cardio requirement as long as you get in your 4 days of strength training. That may include the shred and NMTZ or any other JM resistance training DVD. The BFBM is mainly cardio, therefore you are burning alot of calories,strengtining your heart yet lacking in the resistance training portion. I want this challenge to be as fair as possible. since group 1 is required to do 5 days of cardio (same as group 2) and resistance training (shred only), you will be required to do the same if/when you choose to do BFBM.


Rules EVERYONE must follow.

1.When signing up for the challenge, please write which group you want to be a part of.

2.The challenge begins on August 24th. Your first check-in post must be the post you record your workouts for the day, EVERYTIME 'til the challenge is over! All you have to do is edit and log it in. This will save me time from reviewing all the pages to find your status. :yep: Aas usual, you can post freely in the thread to discuss whatever you want. :drunk:

3. If you break the rules, No exceptions...no questions asked....you're out. :)

Add me to Group 2 please! I will do a mixture of all three but my main focus will be BFBM & NMTZ. For the days were I can't complete a full workout I will do Level 3 of 30 Day Shred.

8/24 - BFBM & Stationary Bike 25 Minutes

Workout Notes: It was hard a first and I felt like my body couldn't take another blow but I managed to push thru. I was really pushing it in the cardio circuit and my push paid off in the core circuit. Sweat was pouring off of me and I gained my second wind.

My intentions is to lose 1 inch off my hips, chest and waist. In my first round of JM I didn't lose as many inches and I wanted but my body started taking shape and I am completely satified with that. This round I plan on taking my body to the next level.

My diet today was horrible. I didn't eat too bad just not enough. I was unpreparied and ended up the a horrible salad. I will be better prepared tomorrow.

8/25 - NMTZ, Walk 20 Minute

Wow! What a workout. JM is gonna have me looking fierce in no time. While exercise I really focused on the body part making sure to visualize the total inches I am looking to achieve.

My diet was better today but still not great. I had a snickers bar yesterday and today I am pretty sure they are out of my system. I no longer like the taste of them. *yuck*

8/26 - JM - Day off!, Walk 20 Minute

8/27 - BFBM, Walk 20 Minutes & Stationary Bike 30 Minutes

Going strong! And my diet was very clean today! :up::up: I made sure to picture the number on the measuring tape I will see when this is over for each body part.

8/28 - NMTZ, Walk 20 Minute & Stationary Bike 20 Miniutes

I really starting to like NMTZ! Its hard but I know its gonna get me the body I deserve! Diest was very clean today.

8/29 - Shred Level 3 & Woman's Health - The Wedding Workout 35 Minutes

Today was a really great day for me. All day my abs felt so tight. I'm loving what JM is doing to my body!!!!!

8/30 - Day Off

8/31 - BFBM

Today's workout was strong. I know for sure my body has moved to the next level. I still gave out a good sweat (which I love) and I diet is getting better and better.

9/01 - NMTZ & Stationary Bike 20 Miniutes

Before leaving work today I knew pushing myself to workout was going to be a challenge so I drinked some green tea and it worked like a charm.

Today's workout was good and I almost made it through the first ab circuit. That first ab circuit is a killer! I able to complete the last one but that first one .:blush:

My diet was ok! I had some fried rice and it bloat me every time. I could be the reason I needed the green tea so rice is a big :nono:

9/02 - JM - Day off!, Walk 25 Minute

9/03 - BFBM, Walk 30 Minutes & Stationary Bike 40 Minutes

Still getting a good sweat which I love but my diet was not so great today. I had Mexican food for lunch and it causes me to hold water like the Hoover Dam!

9/04 - JM - Day off! & Walk 20 Minute
9/05 - Shred Level 3 & Stationary Bike 22 Miniutes

Much to my suprise I got a good sweat out of Level 3. Yesterday was a not so great diet day which drained me and therefore had to forgo my NMTZ routine. I had to push myself today and my saving grace was b/c I don't want to lose all the progress I have made.

My body is really shaping up nicely and I can't wait to see the outcome at the end of this challenge.

9/06 - Day Off
9/07 - BFBM & Walk 25 Minutes

Almost took another day off but green tea saved the day! Because my diet has been horrible for the last few days I was too weak to exercise until I got my green tea in. I took it slow today and didn't push myself too much.

9/14 - BFBM (Warm Up + 4 Circuits)

I have been a very bad gurl! I had a house guest all last week and with the late hours I kept I was unable to find the strenght to workout. It was all I could do today to workout and I coundn't finish the dvd. I did get a really gooooood sweat and I always love that.

9/15 - BFBM (Warm Up + 5 Circuits & Cool Down) & Knee Dancing

Since starting back my exercise regimen I sweat so much more doing less. :blush: I mean the sweat was pouring off me. Just in case you haven't notice I love a good sweat. For a long while I barely sweat during exercise and JM is truly bring it out of me!

9/16 - Day Off
9/17 - Day Off - AF throw her hands on her hips today and said I dare you! :mad:

YAY!!! i'm in for group 1 -- btw BFBM/NMTZ/shred are all still $7.50 at barnes and noble. i will just be on level 1 for a while longer since i started yesterday and have no intention of stopping!

STARTING WEIGHT: 129.6 (keeps fluctuating between 128 and 130...oh well)

DAY 1 -- no workout (friend's bday celebration). still following BFC.
DAY 2 -- shred level 1; BFC
DAY 3 -- day off AGAIN...birth of my goddaughter
DAY 4 -- shred level 1, 1.5 mile walk/run
DAY 5 -- shred level 1, 1.5 mile walk/run
DAY 6 -- shred level 1, no cardio
DAY 7 -- shred level 1, 1 mile walk/run

DAY 8 -- no shred, 1 mile walk/run
DAY 9 -- shred level 1, no cardio
DAY 10 -- shred level 1, 1.5 mile walk/run
DAY 11 -- shred level 2, 1 hr cardio (chasing my cousins around the park)
DAY 12 -- shred level 2, 45 mins cardio (washing the cars)

I lurked all through the last 2 30-day shreds and joined just in time to start this one. Please add me to the group that is only doing the 30 day shred. Can't wait to start, my b-day is one week after the challenge ends, and I'm gonna be flyyyyyyy!!!

I'm in for the 30 day shred. I will try to keep to the schedule as much as possible with my travel. I added it to my ipod so I should be straight.

Oops. I guess I will kick myself out of this round. I missed my first workout on the very first day.
I will catch the next round hopefully. I find something to do while I am waiting.

I'm down for the new challenge!

After looking at the Exercise TV plan, I think I want to move over to Group 2! That way I can get more bang for my butt and not get bored doing the same workout every day.

I've been bad, so I haven't tried NMTZ yet but may add it to my routine as well

add me to group one! i still feel like i haven't mastered the shred. i'm ready for the challenge! i feel like i do better with the structure, and the support of the other challengers.

Great structure Strenght aka JM :grin: I'm in for Group 2:

I will use the shred 2/3 days a week advancing to each level accordingly; the other days I will rotate NMTZ and BFBM for a total of 6 day JM workouts per week.

In the evening, I will do at least 40 min cardio workout most of the 5 days a week.

I'm in Group 2! I haven't tried NMTZs yet but I assume I will probably rotating NMTZ and BFBM.

NappyMD: Good question about if BFBM counts as cardio or not. It seems like a lot of cardio to me....we'll see what our resident Jillian (Strength) says. :grin:

I am in this time around . I eeall need to commit this to myself. Pls add me too group 1. I need to and know it's possible to devote 20 mins a day to myself. I'm over feeling self conscious about my trouble spots.
