Has anyone had individual eyelashes professionally done? If so, did you like it? I'm thinking about having them done soon. The salon charges $200 and every 4 weeks $50 to have them touched up. My mom had them done and they look sooooo..... good. I just wanted some thoughts from everyone on what they think as far as the price. I have bought eyelashes for $4 and put them on myself, but they only last for that day.

I had them done in Atlanta for my birthday and I loved them. I had my lashes and brows done for $80.00

I've had them done a few years ago. I believe they cost $20 and up back then depending on how dramatic you want them to be and touchups were around $18. My had been getting hers done for years and she pays the about same price. They apply them one hair at a time. My mom moved, so she doesn't go to the salon anymore, but I still go to get waxed and the women are LINED UP to get their lashes.
I think some salons are SOOO ripping people off with the prices they charge.

$200 for individual lash extensions-----H to the NO!!!!
I got mines done at the nail salon for about $25 (I think). The nail tech did a great job. They were really pretty but I won't be getting them again.
Do I recommend them? No, I don't. They are horrible on your natural lashes plus when I took mine off, some of my nautral lashes came off too. I was so terrified that my lashes wouldn't grow back but thank God they did. I've heard of some people lashes being completely messed up and they have to resort to wearing falsies forever.
If you do get them done, don't let them use bonding glue. Also, whenver you are ready to take them off be sure to buy some lash glue remover (I don't remember what it's called and I'm to lazy to get up and look. I bought it at a hair store in Houston).

I've never had them done. My good friend gets them done. She pays about $40, more if she wants the more natural looking ones. Her natural lashes were pretty much taken out by the extensions. I'm sure they will grow back, she doesn't keep them off long enough to tell.

What salon is this? Is it in Philly?
Are we talking about the eyelashes that they put on at the nail salon...you know, the lashes you can buy at the store? Or are we talking about the lashes that take a while to put on...where they add lashes to each individual lash?
I've been wanting to get lashes for a while now... but the ones I see done at the salon look so obvious. I'm actually gonna try putting on lash clusters tonight and see how they come out...
I had my done but they werent individuals. One lady didn't do them too well. She charges $7 and uses black glue... Sometimes she uses so much glue, I can see the lashes.
I found this other lady who charges $35. She uses clear glue. When she is done, they look like individual lashes. You can't even tell they are fake. At first I thought $35 was steep but when I saw the difference, it is so worth it.

I'm happy with my Ardell falsies.

It sounds like the glue will have the same effect on your eyelashes as weave glue on the scalp!:nono:

It's Annie's Spa right by Cheltenham and Ogontz. They do nails there, but they also do other spa (facials, waxing, etc.) stuff there. They put on lashes one at a time and lots of women go to them and love them.
There's also a spa in West Philly (I can't remember the name but if you want to know, let me know and I'll find out- they also have a website) that does lashes also and is known and loved for that. The west philly spa is more of a spa type of feel to me IMO- they also don't do nails there. The price for the lashes are around the same price and they do 1 lash at a time. I loved them when I got them. :)
Annie's is Asian owned and the West Philly one is AA owned, but they are VERY professional and about business. I believe the only way they look obvious is because that's what the woman asked for. When I got mine done at the AA salon, I was told that I can have anywhere from natural to showgirl lashes. I chose natural with a tiny bit longer at the ends. They looked natural too- totally beautiful.

I gotta check these places out in philly cause I'm so tempted to get mine done. However, I don't want the extentions to take out MY OWN LASHES! However, when applied right, they are so pretty and natural looking.

Yes...I know someone that got them done at the "hood spot":look: and it had looked very pretty and natural...she said she asked them to put in natural short ones...Ive seen some females that look like they cut a piece of their weave track and stuck the s^&^* on they eye lid...come to find out they ASK for that:perplexed:nono:

I had them done for New Year's a couple years ago and I think I paid about $75 for individuals. I think they're great for a special occasion but the lady I went to said she doesn't let people come to her to keep getting them over and over with no break because they can really damage your natural lashes. Personally, I was ready to get rid of them because they look so over the top especially during the daytime. If you plan on getting them regularly go for the natural look and give yourself maybe a week or so break in between.

Thanks Hairapy! I know the Annie's Spa you're talking about, I went there once a couple years ago for a pedicure...while I was there I saw a girl getting lashes done for her prom, but those are the only ones I really saw. Maybe I'll check them out...I'd definitely get the short natural looking ones if I do...
Can you wear eyeshadow and eyeliner if you get lashes? I've always wondered about that. If you wear eyeshadow can you wash it off or do you have to use makeup remover...? Can you wash your face like normal if you have lashes on or do you have to cleanse your face and avoid the eye area?
