My Makeup Bad Luck :( WAAAAAH WAAAAAH!!!!

:sad::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:Okay, so when I started loving MAC and REALLY being into makeup, I had my first trip to the MAC store and loved it. I wanted to try a few pigments, but I was told that I couldn't get any samples due to people getting them and selling them on ebay.

Okay, fast-forward to today. I'm in the CCO going for what I know... I have like 6-7 discontinued/sold out shadows that I possibly want to buy and a few other things. So the nice guy sees me looking around and trying stuff (the back of my hand looked like someone splattered a fairy on it with all the colors and glitter on it:rolleyes:)- I'm a slow shopped, I like to really check out the scene. Anyway, he comes over to me with a nervous look and says "Are you trying to get all of those shadows?" I said *bright, excited smile*"Yes" He says "I am so sorry, the company (I guess Este Lauder (sp?)) had put a limit on how many things a customer can buy. You can only buy 3 of each thing (ie 3 shadows, 3 lipsticks, 3 blushes, 3 glosses, etc)- the company came down on the CCO because people were coming in, buying up stuff and selling it on the net.


Okay, I am pissed because SO WHAT IF THEY WERE! These are discontinued/sold out items that no one is selling BUT the CCOs. It just doesn't make any sense and I don't know what to do. I am a letter writer, so I'm trying to find an address or something because that was just so STUPID!! I didn't get mad at the guy, because he did seem to really feel bad about the new rule and having to break it to me (I'm sure I looked like a kid in a candy store). He even told me to have my brother come back into the store and get everything else I wanted to get for the sake of the store cameras. I think this is just a way that the MAC GBNF line can still make full-price money on items. What do yall think??

I just HATE when good stuff comes to an end as soon as I get wind of them. That was only my second trip to that CCO and the first time, I didn't get a huge load of stuff, but I was welcomed to buy as much as I wanted! :cry:

I bet some dummy went in there and bought a whole shelf of something and messed it up for everyone else! DUMMY!!! :sad:

SMH. I hate when that happens. Going to the CCO is the perfect opportunity to stock up on stuff and it sucks that they limit the amt of what you can buy! And if ppl want to sell the stuff after they buy then so be it. They paid for it!

He didn't say exactly. He said it's been quite a while. The last time I was there was in February. The CCO is not all that close to me either, but I love getting discontinued stuff in there because that CCO has very big variety of disc/sold out stuff in there- as well as stuff that's still being sold by MAC now. :nono:

If anyone cares to know, I left the store broken-hearted with only a sad little bag that contained: Climate Blue, Remotely Grey, and Go eye shadows. I also got Lucky Jade shade stick, Penny shade stick, and Hyacinth Eye Kohl. :ohwell:

Maybe it was sometime after your last visit. Back in 2006-2007 l sold MAC items on ebay I got most of my stuff from CCO's and often bought 5-10 lipglasses at a time. This is sad news to me also since I had plans on selling again since I have some extra time on my hands. This has really peaked my curiousity I will visit my local CCO and post my findings. The manager have been really friendly lately so next time I'm there I will try to purchase 4 or 5 eyeshadows and see what happens.

These companies kill me, they are not hurting for money plus most of the customers are looking for a discount since MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and other companies does not offer many discounts. It's unfair to limit the amount of items a customer can buy. If a customer chooses to resell their items it's their prerogative. They paid their money.

I saw some blush I wanted to get and I didn't even get it... I saw a million Danger Zone mineralized eye shadows (as well as all of the other mineralized shadows) I saw the Tempting quad, Shadowy Lady quad... and a lot of other popular ones that sold out. Sorry, I was side tracked again :lol: The shadows I have are Climate Blue (velvet), the one in the middle is Remotely Grey (satin), and Go (starflash)- thanks :)

I thought the rule was that you could not but three of the SAME products, such as 3 Penny shadesticks, or 3 Heritage Rouge pigments, but that you could buy 20 shadows as long as they were all different colors, or no more than 2 of each. We need clarification!!
