This has probably been talked about ad nauseum...I'm a late-ee. But what to do? The raw pure shea butter is white? Or can the Ghanian raw pure one also be yellow? I'm confused about this now. I want to mix it for stretch marks. I feel I have to go out and buy another type now. I have the one in the tub.

I found this article online:

I'd think the unrefined(white) shea butter is better...I've used it in the past and I'm not a big fan of the smell, but it seems like that would be the better option. This is what I'm gonna be using in my mix with the olive oil.
HTH!

I found out today...the yellow is also unrefined...added palm oil to color it yellow. Slight nutty smell, firm but creamy consistency when smashed...not gooey....pure.

So we should get the white kind?

I think so...that's what I plan on getting. I'm sure the yellow is effective, just not as effective as the white one, since it's in the purest form.

100% Unrefined shea butter is yellow and white. I saw the nut that it comes out of when I went to the african shop and the lady told me that they are both 100% unrefined and then she should me the nut she was scraping it out of and sure enough one nut had white colored shea butter and the other had yellow colored shea butter. So it really doesn't matter about the color as long as it is 100% unrefined shea butter.
