I am moving to New York in a month or so, and I have no idea where to shop(on a budget). I don't want to look like I don't belong, and I am afraid to look country or like a tourist.

What are the fall/winter styles in New York this year? Where is a good place to shop?

Check out the boutiques in Soho along Broadway. There are less expensive ones along with the higher price stores. And the nice thing about Soho is that you can always find something funky and relatively different down there.
