I've been steadily gaining wait since I've gotten this dang IUD not to mention the daily eating out average I've become accustomed to :lachen:

I noticed I have packed on some weight to my face apparently...so I was told :ohwell:...and need some help on how to get rid of the pouch underneath my chin. It kinda reminds me of a double chin effect :perplexed

Anyone got any ideas????? :look: TIA

Facial exercises. Nonie will be in here in a minute to explain more.

Lose weight. Spot training can help, but it is not guaranteed. When I gain weight my face is like a round M&M and the only way to give it more definition is to lose weight. Have you thought about another method of BC though?

Walking 30 minutes a day does wonders! It's free. It's cheap. And it is great for your health! Good luck!

Facial exercises seconded. Face needs to be toned like everything else. I press my tongue to the roof of my mouth so the chin/neck area flexes. (This thread has reminded me to start doing this again, as I've not done it in a while). I remember my grandmother used to do a bunch of them:yep:, none of which I remember well enough to describe. There are proabably some better ones out there than what I've described - looking forward to hearing them!

And losing weight, of course.

BTW Is there any type of birth control that doesn't make you gain weight, or is this common with all hormonal bc?

I'm on the Mirena and it's been hail. I eat way over a reasonable portion so most of the weight gain comes from the combination of no exercise, excessive snacking (which I'm doing right now), and over eating w/ the BC.

I may have to try the exercise you said...since I felt it so I think I could make this work.

I acutally want to use a different BC but everything effects my body chemistry. I will getting up on the walking this weekend. I live right down the road from the track!!

Yeah, I can relate. I'm recently coming out of the habit of eating when I'm bored (and overeating at that) and some basic things that have helped me are:

consuming large portions of vegetables at the beginning of my meal, making the meat portion the equivalent of a side dish. When I cook steak or salmon, it's so tasty, I'll end up having too much, so now I eat enough to get the requisite protein, but think of it as a side dish rather than the main meal.
although it sounds bland, carrots, cucumbers, and celery are great snacks. Sometimes I like to add some flavor with vinaigrette, hummus or a bit of natural peanut butter on the celery:lick:
when I'm busy I tend to eat whatever is at hand (fast food or lean cusine), so all my good intentions will go to waste unless I acknowledge this and prepare. I might not want to cook every day/every other day during a busy week, so I'll take some time on Sunday to prepare meals and snacks for the week so it's as simple as grab-n-go.

I will getting up on the walking this weekend. I live right down the road from the track!!

This is a great plan! Listen to some high energy tunes, or even an interesting podcast, and you'll be making progress in no time.

I'd like to know of some facial exercises myself to help rid or tone the face.
Hopefully this thread will receive more replies with actual exercise.
