I think they are on there way out now. Round toed shoes are making a big comeback.

I guess it's just a matter of time before we are back in the chunky shoes of the mid-nineties, lol!

I've never seen a round-toe Manolo (and hope I never will)! :roflrofl: Pointy toes are here to stay. It is a very classic look that is never dated and while the other shapes come and go, the pointy toe always remains. How many times has the round toe come in and out?

Even if pointy toed shoes are not "in" for this year, I say all women should wear them always. It's classic.I agree with ubavka...the round toe is back and forth, but the pointy never leaves :).

Thank God! I don't care if it does go out.....round toe just doesnot do for me what pointy toe does.....I like being different anyway.

I used to never see pointy toed shoes when they weren't "in" style. People used to say they looked like witch shoes until everyone started wearing them. I'm personally very glad they are on their way out! All of my folks who wear sizes 8.5 and up know what I'm talking about! Round toed shoes forever!!!!!!!

I wear a size 9.5 to 10 and I rock the pointy toes. Round toes do not flatter me at all. I am short 5'2 and round toes make me look like a school girl.

I hope not because I love them. I hate round toe shoes, I haven't tried any on but when I see them I just think YUCK!

It was just never my style. I have one pair of pointy shoes and the rest vare just regular. I don't like how you can see the imprint of alot of peoples toes in those shoes. But hey it's all cool. I'm just ready for it to be alllllll the way out

Girl, I wear a size 11 and I am 5'9.5"! :) Pointy is all I have. Round-toe shoes look funny on me, like my feet are too small for my body. Pointy toes are the perfect finish to a long pair of legs--to all legs! :) They are very comfortable if you buy the right size. I have shoes in 10.5-11 because shoes are cut so differently. Like clothes, a lot of times, you can't go by the number that you usually wear. In the end, to each his own! I just LOVE shoes! PERIOD!

Are they really going out of style? I checked this site out and they still have pointy-toed shoes and boots with a few square-toed shoes...[I hate square-toed shoes!]. Maybe because I didn't go to the designer shoe sites...[I went to the Nine West website] that's why I didn't see any round-toed shoes. I love pointy-toed shoes with stilletto like heels...so I hope this isn't true.

I am with you girl. I am 5'9 and a size 10 and ALL I wear is pointy toe shoes unless it is open toed. And the round toe shoes jsut look homely to me. I had a few scare toe when they were in by the long legs + pointy toes...just equals sexy to me!

Pointy toe'd shoes are HOT and here to stay. They always look sophisticated whether they are heels, boots, OR flats. The spice up jeans rather nicely. Do you guys remember when square-toe shoes were the thing? Now I won't even LOOK at a shoe if it has a square toe...haha :D

No Lanelle, they are not out and they aren't going out.

True, round toes are making the rounds for fall, but they are not replacing pointy toed shoes. Rond toes should only be worn with skirts and wide leg trousers/pants, do not rock them with jeans, straight cut pants, or capris, IMO! :)

I don't know. My friends grandmother saw me with some on, and she was like oh, so they brought those back too. I said you use to wear these, lol. She said yeah, don't waste your money on them honey they will be gone before you know it :( :(....

All the shows did round toe shoes for the fall.

Pointy has been around for a while. It will never go out of style. For one, it makes certain people feet look slimmer and makes some people look more streamline.

Pointy shoes will stay but the round ones are coming back. I like both styles but my question is...how can you wear the pointy ones without having pain and/or corns???

That's so funny! I wear an 11 too and I cannot stand the way my feet look in pointy toes! Makes me feel like I'm wearing skis - like my feet go on forever! But I don't like round toes either.

Can someone post a picture of a round-toed shoe that looks good? So far I haven't seen any.

I didn't vote, because there wasn't a catagory for "I HOPE THEY GO OUT SOON!!"
Ugh! They make larger sized feet look longer- I see women strolling around and it looks like they have boats on their feet!
I am a round/square toes gal or open toes! I'm all about making my feet look as dainty as possible (I wear an 8 and a half).

They are cute for a smaller sized foot. I have seen sizes 10 and up that look huge. I personally wouldn't wear them either way.

I don't have a pic but I do know I have some olive green, round toe, girly looking pumps that I bought last year and I can't walk ten steps without getting a compliment. Then ones I see are less of a "sharp" look that pointy toe shoes have and way more of a dainty girly look. So I think a lot of it might have to do with personal style. I'm extremely girly in the way I dress and the round toe compliments that. It also goes with the girly stuff of this season. I think pointy toes is for more modern type fashion.

It's funny this discussion was up here. Some guys at my job were just saying they hate pointy shoes. I like the shoes on people with small feet sometimes and only if they really know how to walk in them. I only prefer round because they are more comfortable and not 2 feet long.

I like them both, it really depends upon the style. I rock my pointy toe boots and pumps with jeans. I wear a 10 and there are just some pointy toe shoes that make my feet look like a size 20. So I really base them on what I like. I love round toe shoes because they make my feet look smaller. Here is the rule I live by with pointy toe shoes:

If they are red, it is a no no! Red makes my feet look like a pair of skiis
If they are pointy toe flats, a special no no! My feet look like those of a drag queen trying to wear womens shoes.

I feel if either one of them go out of style, they will come back again.

Hi,

I'm learning how to make shoes now and I don't think the pointy toe is going anywhere. It may be softened sometimes and I think the extremely pointy one may go away for a little while, but like all fashions, they always come back. I wear a 10 and while I love the pointy toe, I love the round toe too b/c it makes my feet look smaller. Actually I don't care what the toe looks like as long as it's attached to a high heel ;)

I'm coming to raid your closet girl! I'm the same height and shoe size! Most of my shoes are pointy toe too, but occasionally I do like to rock a round toe, more so with skirts that way my feet don't look as long LOL

Where do you get most of your shoes from? Favorite designer? (haha look at me plotting on stealing your shoes!)

Pointy toes will never be out of style ...at least not for the "classic woman" ;)

Pointy toes are one of those things that are timeless in my opinion.
They have been around for a long time and will be around in the future- kind of like jeans.

They've already been out for over a year. It was on all the fashion mags lists, high fashion at least. Saks n' em' have been pushing round toe for at least one season if not more. Shoe lines (from Louboutin to Max Studio have been focusing heavily on rounder styles). You still see pointy and it's not like wearing a stripped poncho from 2005, but it's not in the forefront.

I've been rocking round or almond toe with a skinny sexy heels for a minute. My pointy toe shoes are still around, but not worn as much (though it depends on the outfit). Though I still wear my pointy toe boots quite often.

The super pointy ones went out a few seasons ago...
the more traditional point is a classic shape ... it will always be in style.

That square toe is really hot now.

How do you ladies wear those pointy toe shoes, though? Is there a trick to it, as in putting your feet fitting into the widest part of the shoe and leaving space in the real pointy part? I don't buy pointy-toes because I need room for my toes or else I suffer.

Most of the ones that are out now account for toe space. My foot never goes all the way to the front of my shoe and I buy my size. That's the problem I have with the few pairs of round toe shoes I own. I always feel like my toes are ramming into the front of the shoe when I walk even though there's room. :ohwell: You could always go up a half size though. Are your feet wide?

Try them a 1/2 size bigger than you would normally.:yep:

Right now, my feet are fat! LOL! But they're a bit long for my height. I'm 5.3 1/2 and the smallest shoe size I've ever worn are 7 1/2. I currently take a size 9.

Yeah that's probably why. You might have to opt for Wide shoes if they're available. I used to have a really narrow foot as a child. My parents would have a hard time finding shoes but they spread once I got older. When I was heavier I had a hard time with shoes pinching right where my toes start. Like where the shoe creases when you walk. I could only wear a 10 then. Most of my shoes now are 9's and 9.5's. I think my feet went down width wise. Also my toes are long. :look:

i don't see them as much here as i used to and i also don't see many "fashionable"/well-dressed people (of my age group) wearing them.

personally,if i'm wearing closed-toe shoes, i prefer them like this (http://www.asos.com/Ted-Baker/Ted-Baker-Buckle-Patent-Slingback-Shoe/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=228314&cid=4172&clr=Black&sh=0) (and this (http://www.asos.com/French-Connection/French-Connection-Sling-Back-Shoes/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=227689&cid=4172&clr=Chocolate&sh=0)). i only like pointy toe shoes if the tip is slightly rounded.

I like pointy toe, but the make my feet look long, and I think my feet are pretty small (7.5). They don't go well with my skinny body. :nono:
