Jeans? I have paid $400 for a pair of Gucci jeans before, but that is not the norm. The most I'll pay regularly is $150, but even that is giving me an attitude.
Skirts? $100
Tops? Again, I've paid up to $200, but ordinarily, $70 is my high.
Purses? I don't have a limit for bags :(. That's my weakness. At some point, I will buy a Hermes Kelly bag.
Shoes? $500. Normally, I try to buy shoes under $100, though.

I guess I should answer my own question!
Jeans? $50
Skirts? $40
Tops? $30
Purses? $75
Shoes? $150
If I get a raise of course, I would spend more. The only reason I would even pay that much for shoes or a purse is because a leather purse is more expensive but lasts longer. Also good pairs of leather shoes can be re-soled instead of having to buy new ones. So to me it's an investment.

Jeans? $50 if i am working
Skirts? $20
Tops?$20
Purses? $220
Shoes? $100 the most i ever paid was $400 for some Guiseppe Zonattis but i only bought them because i wanted to show the stuck up sales people at Nordstrom that I am not to be ignored.
I usually dont spend more than $20 on any one item because i do most of my shopping from clearance racks or stores like Nordstrom Rack, Saks off 5th, Ross, Marshalls 2nd etc

Jeans- $150
Skirts-$40
Tops-$30
Purses-$100 (not even) Im not a big pocket book person.
Shoes- I dont know, it really depends on how much I like it. I would shell out $200 easy for a pair of jeans before I shell out $70 for a pair of shoes.
"m not big on shoes or pocetbooks. I love clothes and access. ie earrings and bracelts etc. All the above mentoned is based on how much I really like the article.

I'm not a cheap person, so if I have the money to buy something that I want, I'll get it no matter the cost. However, I don't spend lots of money on trendy things that will only be in style for one season. But a classic piece that can be worn over and over for years? If I have the money, I'll buy it.

Thats how i am too. Jeans will never go out of style. So those I invest in.

Im with jujuboo, Im a bargain shopper, my mom taught me well and I learned at a young age. I never pay regular price for anything either unless its at Ross/TJ maxx or an outlet and thats really not regular price either.
My friends beg me to teach them to shop like me, they get on to me for always having new stuff or something they havent seen me wear and Im always like "I only payed X for this"...lol. we could go out shopping and they would spend 100 or more on maybe a shirt and some pants and I would have practically a new wardrobe. This is why I have way too many clothes though bc they are all bargain finds. I love bargain shopping!

That's me exactly :) I don't really spend more than $15 on ANYTHING (with one exception) and I'm reluctant to even spend that much. That one exception was this past spring break when I went to florida with my friend. I bought a pair of Saucony athletic shoes, on sale for $40 at DSW, so I could walk around Disney all weekend without my feet hurtin' :D They're quality and I can tell I'm gonna have them for a loooong time.
Whenever I want something that costs a little more (like coats) I make sure it's on my Christmas list ;)

Blaxal, Im guessing u love the millenium mall on that budget! ;)
I guess when I actually have the income to support buying expensive clothes, I will invest in them. They always say when u make more money, you spend more so it equals out, its just that your means have increases.
by the way, what kind of jeans do u wear? I know u mentioned u are losing weight so Im assuming u are a little fuller figured like myself(I could be wrong though!). I have a hard time finding nice jeans...

Innocent kiss,
well basically u start with your wardrobe basics like jeans, black pants and skirts, khaki pants and skirts...then when u go shopping the first place u look is the clearance racks. You can always find cute pieces that are easy to work into the basics for half off or more. I have lots of stuff Ive gotten on clearance for $5-$10.
Tank tops,etc-- always from ross and tj maxx...why pay 15-20 for plain tank tops somewhere when u can get them there for 4.99? summer dresses-$9.99. And they arent cheapo brands like Rave or Forever21, they are from stores like jcpenneys, etc. you have to check stores like ross and tj maxx often bc u could go one day and find nothing and the next hit the jackpot.
Ive also gotten lots of cute things from Dillards and Burdines when they have a bunch of stuff 50%-75% off and then an extra 25 percent off the lowest price. I have NICE dresses that were expensive for $20 or less on clearance.
Some people dont like the hassle of rumbling through sales racks, but its a field day for me. I love it and love to show and tell everyone about my bargains....lol. I know some ppl would just play it off but Im proud of my bargain buys!
