I totally agree. I am soooo careful about what styles I wear. I stayed away from the pointy toe shoes because I have big feet only to realize that because of how they are shaped I can wear 2 sizes smaller than I normally wear. :D

it is really hard when you have larger feet, a friend of mine is 5'5 with size 11 feet she has to search high an low for nice shoes that aren't so expensive.

I'm an offender. :sekret: I'm a DD and I love my Frederick's push up bra. I don't wear it often but there are times when even ample twins want that little extra attention.

I'll add a few:

--going braless (if they hang, regardless of size, strap 'em up)
--ashy ankles and sandals (lotion, use it or step away from the sandals)
--silky straight weave when you have kinky hair (try to fool the people, dang)
--gold or platinum teeth (why oh why?)
--too tight clothes on thin women (buy the size 5, stop squeezing into the size 0)
--black eye liner used as lip liner (need I even say why)
--brushing down baby hair (if you're over 7 don't do it)
--don't do stilettos if you don't know how to walk in them
--wearing the wrong bra size. Don't squeeze D's into a B or C bra and don't put A's in a C bra. Deal with what you have. VS and Fred's do bra fittings for free.
--Jeans so tight they give you camel toe. :barf:

My push up from Fredericks only comes out when I'm wearing a good amount of cleavage or when I want the extra attention.

ITA, Im a D cup and was a DD at my biggest, those babies need some help sometimes too! Its not just the small breasted ladies that need a "pick me up" LOL
a good push up bra can work wonders, especially a strapless one...I refuse to wear maternity looking bras all the time! hahaha

maybe I dont have a true push up bra though, but I have a nice strapless one that lifts and separates so well that Im holding on to it for dear life even though its falling apart! Ive worn it all summer under tanks, etc. too bad I got it at Ross so it cant be replaced!

You guys are so right.

I have to be real careful with what I wear and how I wear it, because I am a larger lady.

I have found that the Leah Feldon book -- "Does this make me look fat", is the best book I have found [and I have read a lot of them] for advice on how to look your best, no matter what your size.

Leo can you give me the 411 on the Leah Feldon's book. I need to order it in amazon. DId it help you a lot ?

Oh yes. It is a great book. I try to follow the instructions and my look is vastly improved. I feel I look more slender, and elegant than I ever have before. I have read other books that were not nearly so helpful.

You can't do wrong to buy it. I would not be without it. Even slender ladies can benefit from what she has to say in this book.

I think a big no-no for many women is the trying to squeeze into smaller clothes because they think it makes them look even smaller, no matter what their size. It just makes you look larger. If you wear something in your size or one size bigger and it streamlined and well tailored it actually makes you look thinner.

have you guys seen the "What not to wear" book that seems pretty good too

I have not read that particular book -- "What not to wear" yet. I probably will later though.

I am a firm believer in "investment dressing" [buying real quality classic clothing whenever possible. so I have read Leah Feldon's books [and many others on classic fashions for years now].

When I gained weight, and my look started getting frumpy, the "Does this make me look fat" book came out right on time, and It was my new fashion bible. I really needed it too!

I am not young, beautiful, and as slender as most of you ladies, but when I dress to go out, I turn quite a few heads still -- because I can still look stylishly striking and in good taste.

see? stores need to stop with vanity sizing. ppl think a size 4 in one store is a size 4 universally, noooooo hun!!

msportugal

they need to stop vanity sizing and start sizing like the men by actual measurements

alira those are two good ones
