Clothes Maintainence (Post your tried & true)

I just went shopping today http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/clap.gif Spent about $250.00 http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif I got a lot of nice pieces that I want to last. Can any of you share some tips on clothes maintainence -- from dresses to sneakers.

wipe your sneakers often, you can even throw them in the washing machine and let then air dry

Things like sweaters that say dry clean only can often be handwashed and then rolled on a towel to remove water and dried flat. Sometimes the cleaning materials can eat up sweaters and they wont last as long

Delicate items like sweaters made of chenille, cashmere etc can be washed in a mesh lingerie bag so it wont get snagged or stretched out inthe spin cycle
