Some people sweat more than others it doesn't mean you aren't working out to the max. Make sure you drink lots of water and see if you sweat more.

I sweat more on my head( it runs down my face and neck) and my stomach that's it. But I see results anyway.

You may be dehydrated, Make sure you're drinking half your body weight in water daily. Also just because you're working AS hard as the person next to you doesn't necessarily mean you're working out hard for you ya know?

Sweating is your body's cooling mechanism. If you're going hard like all out and you're not breaking a sweat your body probably can't spare the water. PLEASE be careful:(

it may be a sign of a thyroid problem. people with thyroid issues usually have a low body temperature. when they exercise, their temps have raised to where it should have been, so they appear to sweat less or non at all.

I hardly sweat and I always looked at it as a good thing..never thought it could point to a problem.

What do you consider a whole lot of water? I sweat when I work out as well as feel the burn and feel as if I am about to pass out after running on the treadmill. I make sure I am constantly challenged meaning it hurts on the 3rd rep and I have 12 more to go! I feel as if I am about to swing off the treadmill and I still have 10 minutes left.

As my husband puts it - leave EVERYTHING at the gym. And when it is all over - you could just be dehydrated and your body is holding on to the water. Are you seeing any results with all of this working out? I mean body downsizing? Body tightening up?

i don't sweat when i work out either. when i started running, i expected to be dripping sweat but nothing happened. the only time i sweat is when i do a hard workout like tae bo or bootcamp. and then its only a few little beads. nothing running down or pouring. i guess i'm just not a sweater.

My friend doesn't sweat at all, never has. When we were in college she passed out while playing sports and eventually found out she has a thyroid problem. Be careful because if you're not sweating at all, you can get overheated easily. You need to see a doctor about this.

I sweat mostly on my face so when I'm in a class and everyone's shirts are soaking wet mine is just a tiny damp, so I don't compare myself with anyone else. If you do sweat somewhat I would just follow the advice already given.

I don't sweat much either. I think dehydration is part of the problem, for me at least. I took one of those body fat/composition tests and I was told to drink more water. I notice when I am working out hard, I may sweat very little, but I'm always very thirsty.

Very true about hydration, you need to drink water all throughout the day well before your workout. Drinking it before or after may not be enough. Try to drink 8 ounces of water every waking hour. You'll pee a lot at first:lol: but within a week your body will adapt:yep: Ladies definitely get those thyroids checked!

Sweating once again is your body's cooling mechanism. If your body temperature is raising but your body is not producing sweat to cool it the results could be deadly. Think of a fever for example. You get hot as heck but you don't sweat. You know you're getting well when you "sweat it out."

BODY MATTERS

When I do cardio, I seem to sweat more than most people. I notice that some people do not seem to sweat at all, even when working out hard. Am I burning more calories, or just not as fit as I should be?

The more you contract your muscles during exercise, the more heat you produce. Sweat is necessary to cool the body while exercising because it prevents you from overheating. However, your environment, exercise intensity, fitness level, gender and genetics all play a role in how easily and how much you sweat.

Consider these points:

* Most men sweat more than women do, even when exercising at similar intensities. However, that does not mean men can handle hotter temperatures than women or vice versa. Heat tolerance appears to be generally the same for both genders.

* You can't "sweat" off extra pounds, and exercising in very hot environments or wearing clothes that promote water loss can compromise your body's cooling system, and can be very dangerous. While you may appear to lose weight on the scale, it is just water weight, and you will regain it as soon as you eat and drink normally.

* Proper hydration and clothing can help keep your body cooler, and often reduce how much you sweat. Drink at least 3 to 4 ounces of water every 10 to 15 minutes while exercising, and wear "breathable" clothing, which can allow more air to flow across your skin.

* Do not judge the intensity or calorie burn of a workout by how much you sweat. If you exercise in a colder environment, it is likely you will not sweat as much as in hotter ones, even if you are burning the same amount of calories. Measure your intensity using other factors, such as breathing rate.

* Even if you are sweating when you work out, it is still possible to overheat when you exercise in extremely hot temperatures or badly ventilated areas. Don't exercise outside during the warmest hours of the day, especially in summer, and use a fan in workout areas that lack good air circulation.

* You can't "sweat" off a hangover, which is primarily caused by dehydration. But light to moderate exercise when you have a hangover may not be a bad idea, if your stomach and digestive system can handle it. Exercise increases circulation, and can help release endorphins, which can make you feel better and more energized. But be sure to drink lots of water, otherwise exercising can dehydrate you further.

* If you exercise regularly, you may sweat more easily and aggressively than your sedentary friends. Though this may seem like a nuisance, it is actually a good thing. Your body has become more efficient at cooling itself, which can enable you to work harder!

What is your running program? I have a killer one that works and will at least get you 2 drops of sweat. Let me know if you want it.

I thought I didnt sweat much until I joined this boot camp class! He makes us wear leggings, long sleeve t's , sweats, a hoodie(w/the hood on and tied) and a t shirt. I have never sweated so much in my life.
