Sorry if this is a repeat thread....

Is anyone else doing this? Man, I absolutely LOVE it. I'm on week 4, which is pretty hard, but I'm loving it. Slowly, but surely, I'm turning into one of those people who likes running. :yep:

I'm so excited...by next week I should be able to run a full 20min without walking in between. This is nothing for some of you fitness junkies out there but.... a short while ago, I would get out of breath from running 60seconds:nono:

Here's the link if any of you want to check it out:

Let me know if any of you are doing it. How are you liking it? What week are you on? Let's keep each other encouraged!

I'm doing this. I am starting week 7 tomorrow. I love it. I have always been a runner, probably bc my sis was in track.

Have you downloaded the HipHop podcast? She's gotten me through some hard runs.

I will be starting on June 9th and my running days will Tue, Thu and Sat. I have to get through the holiday and the jazz festival the 1st weekend in June.

Update 5/25/09 Well I started this past Thursday and my left knee is still killing me today. I think I need to lose some more weight before running. I am in serious pain. I don't want to get so bad that I can no longer do aerobics. I think the pavement is doing me in. I have the mats in my basement and do aerobics on them and my knees don't hurt. I can even do step without knee issues. Oh well I will try again at the end of the summer.

ETA: I have been walking around since Thursday smelling like Bengay, Icy Hot, Arthristishot, you name it I have put it on.

I actually started the program a while ago and never finished. I picked up at week 4 yesterday and had a pretty good run. I found a website that goes through the steps to set up your own podcast, of sorts. It was a lifesaver. Although the hip-hop podcast was pretty good, I still wanted to listen to my own music. I was able to set it up using my itunes. Here is the link that I used. Hopefully listening to my own music will be what I need to actually finish the program this time.

I have stopped and started this several times. I am on week 4 now. I use the hip-hop podcast, too- it really helps me. The program does make running more doable and you get such a sense of accomplishment. Running a full 20 mins will feel like a major accomplishment to me.

Yeah, i've definitely started and stopped a couple times too, but I noticed that when I started again this time, I was able to pick back up where I left off. The earlier weeks were just too easy. I'm so excited...I'll be running a full 20min at the end of next week!!

I just completed Week 4 Day 2. I felt better today than tuesday. How is everyone else doing?

I was looking at this but haven't started it yet. Are there any guidelines as to what weight you should be before starting? Like if you're too heavy, this could possibly do more harm than good?

I would think the determining factor would be if you have knee or back trouble. Not just like you're feeling sore (because your back muscles will definitely get worked from running) but more like if you have serious pains.

A friend of mine who is roughly 270lbs is thriving with it. Well, she's not that weight anymore, but she definitely started around that number.

I think that's the beauty of the program, the fact that you start off pretty slow (running only 60sec at a time).

I started it when I weighed about 250, so I don;t think there are any limits. You just do what you can do- i.e. run at the pace you can run at. My speed has improved as I've grown accustomed to running and also as my weight has dropped. HTH

The majority of the biggest loser contestants were running at 10 mph weighing over 300 lbs so you should be fine. I usually jog at 5.0 and walk at 3.0 to 3.5. I see people at the gym going faster and slower. Its all about where you are comfortable.

Ooh, this is just what I need. I've hit a stall with my weight loss for the past 2 weeks and I can't figure out why. I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing nutritionally because its been working for me, but I'll start week one of this program on Monday. That should help me to refocus my energy on something other than the food I'm consuming. Give me something else to obsess over!!! LOL!!!

Get ready to be obsessed. Since starting I am dead serious. I told myself I wouldn't quit this time. It's go hard or go home.

I write my running in my calendar like it's a serious appointment. I am going to finish week 7 in the morning and I really feel accomplished.
