I was thinking last night how frustrated I can get when I hit a stall and figured there were probably other ladies like me on here soooo.....
I figured why not start a support thread where we can talk about what where going through, when we hit our stalls, how we get out of them, and most importantly, keep each other on track because it's during a stall that most people quit or relapse.
So I'm calling my stallers out! Where you at!?

I find that I tend to stall when I drop from one group of 10's to another. My stalls last 1-3 weeks sometimes and I get frustrated. I start feeling like "will I be stuck here forever?" I go through this every 10lbs I kid you now:lol:
For example after I lost the initial 30+ during my 6 week postpartum period I was in the 200's for a looooong time! In my mind I was like "Will I be stuck in the 200's forever? What am I doing wrong?!"
Then I hit the 190's and was all :yay: and then after a couple weeks same thing. Then the 180's, then the 170's, THEN the 160's, and now again in the 150's!
So ok logical Kassandra is SHDH at emotional Kassandra and saying, "Ok big DUH! Obviously you got out of the 200's, 190's, 180's, 170's, and 160's, WHY would you think you're never going to get out of the 150's doh doh brain!?":lachen:
I of course know she's right as usual lol. I blame all the diet books and articles over the years that say you'll lose an average of 1-2lbs a week. I really think they should note that although it averages out to that, it may not come exactly like that you know?
For example, if you average it out I've lost an average of 1.66lbs per week, but my scale and measuring tape didn't reflect those changes weekly. I'd lose chucks of weight every couple of months but never consistent like that. I jealous of consistent losers lol.
Anywho there you have it, that's my biggest challenge.

I had stalled and then started to gain weight back:perplexed. I went back to what I know works and I've lost 4 pounds (even with my period being on:look:) So I believe I've lost more than that but thats what the scale said this morning. I've also lost another 1/2" of my waist :yep:. I have another 4" to go with that. I have 6 more pounds to lose this month.

This is the thread for me :yep:. I am stalled now. I have been sticking to my diet and exercise but I have been stalled for about a week or more. Tonight I am going to have fried fish :lick::nono: but I will exercise an extra day to make up for it. I will not give up on my weight loss goal again. I plan to have my 'sexy back' by my birthday in June.

See I think that's part of what prolongs our stalls you know? Like you're stalled for a week or two so you eat something sugary or fried or greasy that you normally wouldn't, then you eat something else like that. Then you start nibbling, then next thing you know you start to gain a little. Then you snap yourself out of it, get back on track and ta da! The scale and measuring tape start moving in the right direction again. Do any of you do this? I am going to work really hard to stay clean through this stall and see if it lasts a shorter period of time than when I cheat out of frustration and start to regain a bit.:yep:

The fried fish I am having tonight will be my first cheat in about a month or more. I am pretty good at getting back on track when I am serious about my weight loss. I have no doubt that I will return to Fat Smash Diet tomorrow. I plan for my next cheat to be around my b-day at the end of June.

See that's a planned cheat which are good to keep the metabolism guessing:yep: My "planned cheats" are 30 seconds out and usually involve twizzlers:blush::lachen:
Twizzlers have got to be my biggest vice! Even on low carb when I don't have sugar cravings, when I pass them in the store (they follow me like "Hungry" in the Weight Watchers commercial:look:) my heart rate increases, my mouth starts to water, and I have to give myself a stern internal pep talk and practice my Lamaze to make it though:blush: It's easier to quit smoking than to quit junk food, that should tell you something about the crap that's in there:nono: I can pass cigs with no probs and cig smoke makes me sick now but Twizzlers:nono: Twisting all up like that sticking together with that yummy goodness giving me the come hither look:nono: I swear the package smiles at me and wispers:look:

You should treat yourself often. I can't not eat the things you enjoy. Just enjoy them in smaller portions.

Girl I have tried 50-11 ways past Tuesday to do this and it just don't happen. I have to practice abstinence:blush: I have a personal "vice list" of things that will totally put me over the edge and I limit those to when I reach certain goals (like every 10-15lbs lost I'll give myself a green light to just have at it,and boy do I have at it:lachen: I'm one of those ALL or NOTHING chicks:rolleyes:)

I can't D :nono:. I am an extremist, I go from one extreme to the other. Either I am exremely overeating or extremely committed to my diet. I will have this fish tonight but I will make sure I burn the calories with extra exercise. I have been thinking that I maybe stalling because I am not getting enough calories so this may help. Last time I cheated I lost 3 lbs :spinning:.

I have those things too. Nuts, wine, sweets and chips are no-nos in any quanity when I am trying to reach my goal.

I have a dessert everyday. EV.ER.Y.DAY!! I know know how you do it.
I have desserts too but it's usually sugar free jello or my low carb brownie or low carb cheesecake muffins:yep: So I do have a little something, but certainly nothing on my vice list:nono:
If anyone is interested here's my recipes for the bownie and the cheesecake muffins.
Low Carb Brownie (I came up with this myself:grin:) 1 serving
190 calories
15 grams of fat
8 grams of carbs
3 grams of fiber (so 5 net carbs)
10.5 grams of protein
1/2 block Baker's Unsweetened chocolate (the ones that have that little split down the 2 like a hershey bar. I cut it down that middle notch and wrap the other half back up)
1 oz Fat Free Cream Cheese
1 Tablespoon Skippy Natural Peanut Butter
4 Splenda packets
In a microwave safe bowl put chocolate in the microwave for 1 minute. Then add cream cheese, splenda and peanut butter. Put in microwave until cream cheese starts to bubble. Stir quickly. It with start to take on the texture of a brownie. Remove from bowl, shape and eat!
My whole family loves these and is always trying to steal them:wallbash:
Low Carb Cheesecake Muffins (makes 12 muffins)
110 calories
8.8 grams fat
2.4 grams carb
3.7 grams protein
2 8 oz packages Philadephia 1/3 Less Fat Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Splenda
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Soften cream cheese in the microwave for 40 seconds. add vanilla, splenda and eggs and blend with beater until smooth. Spoon into muffin cups (in muffin pan) and bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool in the refrigerator (or freezer if you want one sooner!) and enjoy!

This is an awesome idea KBragg. I was stalled a couple of months ago (couldn't get and stay) below 190 and I was kinda depressed about it. For a moment I thought that maybe my body was meant to be that weight (which is crazy because I'd have to be like 6 ft. tall for that to be a "normal" weight :lachen:) :perplexed
I was listening to my personal trainer's podcast (Jillian Michaels :lachen:) and she was talking about plateaus and suggested that the calories you eat shouldn't be reduced any further when you stall, but the intensity of exercise should be increased. I tried it and low an behold I not only made it out of the 190s but out of the 180s too. Hopefully the 170s will be a thing of the past soon

I saw 154 for the first time in 2 years yesterday!:yay: 153 will be a new milestone for me. It'll be the lightest I've been in SEVEN YEARS! I'm getting hype! I even wore a size medium top today:grin:
I was 156 this morning but I know my weight likes to bounce back and forth before settling on the new lower weight so I'm just a waiting!
The way I broke this stall was eating more calories. It wasn't intentional, I just woke up one morning super HUNGRY and ended up eating a little over 2300 calories on Thursday and around 1800 on Friday and that was the day I saw 154:yep:

Congrats on the milestone!
