Maybe this is something that comes with aging. When I feel the urge the urinate, I go. But then when I get there and I'm hovering, I have to wait a few seconds before anything will come out.
I have heard other women speak of this, so I have assumed it is normal. Does this happen as we get older or is this an indicator of a problem?

I've never experienced this. Have you talked with your doctor about it? Maybe something is putting pressure on and off of your bladder.

I do that - I always assumed it was from my kegeling - I have to consciously relax my pelvic floor before I can pee. I think it's a good thing - better to take a few seconds that to not be able to hold it, at all. :nono:
I've had that happen before. But usually it's just when I'm in a public restroom and someone else is in the stall next to me. When I'm at home, things are usually pretty free flowing, so to speak.

I've been monitoring myself for a few days and interestingly, this does usually happen when I'm at work and even more so if someone else is in the other stall. Maybe it has something to do with the hovering (public rr) as opposed to sitting (my own toilet). Hmmmm :scratchch

Maybe the position of hovering is contracting certain muscles that might do that?
Because i think it happens to me to when in public rr. I hover, wait a few seconds, then pee as if i was waiting to be in a correct position before peeing lol

Yep, I have a "shy bladder" also. If someone is at my home and close to restroom while I'm in there, it happens.

That is extremely interesting--there's actually a name for it, who would have thought?

My bladder is like that. But its not because it's shy.
Its just because it has a problem.
Like when I have to go, I HAVE TO GO! and its always sudden. I always have about 1 minute or two to get to the bathroom before the unthinkable happens. So far, Ive always been lucky in that im usually near a bathroom.
But anyways...yeah sometimes my bladder may take about 30 seconds before it releases its contents.
Damn I think I posted too much info. o well.
