Whats your favourite version of the Bible?

I think I have the New International Version (NIV) and it doesnt mentioned anything about fornifications but only sexual immorality. I wanted to know whats the most 'accurate' version and your favourite?

I like the new living but I only read the KJ or the NKJ because they are more accurate then the rest from my study on different bible. I even have the jewish bible which reads like a story.

I also like the New Living Translation but I prefer the New International Version. I also hear really really good things about the English Standard Version so I'm purchasing one of those soon. I have yet to buy a NKJV though I need to add it to my collection as well - maybe the parallel one.

Amplified although when I'm quoting in prayer/warfare, it's KJV!

"Accuracy", for what it's worth, is when I go to my Strong's concordance to find the Hebrew/Greek reference.

I prefer the KJV and like to use the Hebrew and Greek references.

yes get the NKJ because if you compare it to NIV and NLT and other bibles you will see there are many things missing. I don't like that so I stick with KJ or NKJ and look throught both. I won't read NIV and I have many of them. To many things missing from there.

Wow, I had no idea. :perplexed I just understand it so much better. Almost every church I've been to in the past few years uses NIV. I attend Bible Study Fellowship and the bible used is NIV.

I think I will get a parellel NIV/NKJ so I can have something for church and something for study.

Thanks for the info.

King James for me.

I had a King James/New Living translation bible. I really liked that one. I'm still hurt that I left it at church one day and haven't seen it since.

I like to get as close to the original as possible...so KJV supplemented by Hebrew and Greek texts along with my Strong's.

I have a NKJV and NIV. I read the NKJV more, it's what I grew up on. I will be buying the KJV though, my Mom told me it's more accurate than the others. I usually read my bible how I study for a test. I have 2 textbooks plus internet sources for classes and I learn so much more. So that is how I approach my Bible. I use 2 Bible and whatever supplements will allow me understanding and get me all the details.
