I have the matte purple MUFE #92 shadow and a matte orange from MAC and I would like to complete an eye look with both. Could someone post pictures or videos with this colour combo? I'm not quite sure how to search for these things. Nothing clownish or too over the top, please, and thank you ever so much in advance!

Are you sure you only want to use those two shades only? Be careful not to look clowny with that combo. I'll be honest, all of the tutorials I saw using that combo were kinda clownish... :ohwell:

Okay, this one is not bad if it's toned down by not going as far as she did over the crease and leaving the white line out.

angeec has an orange and purple tut on youtube, but yeah most of the ones I've seen are over the top. Maybe you could get inspired and then make your own toned down version.

okay, but I don't know how to search on youtube for something that specific. I'm hoping someone has exact links.

I'm definitely trying to avoid over the top:perplexed

When you go into youtube, just type what you want to see into the search box. I typed orange and purple eye shadow and videos came up. You can put in any color combo you want and videos will come up. Hope this helps. You can also try typing MAC orange and purple too and just change the purple to the #92 MUFE that you have.

Pookie's cousin did a pretty good look with those colors (albeit not the exact products you have):

Wearing one color on the lid and then lining the bottom with the other color and keeping the crease neutral (saddle, soft brown) works with a lot of bold colors. Have you tried that. I don't think that I would wear orange and purple together on my lid personally because the risk of looking clownish is high.

I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and instead of doing orange and purple I did copper and purple using mufe 92, carbon and a rubenesque paint pot (used it on the lid) and then user a copper liquid last liner over top of the paint pot.

I think it came out pretty, may be a bit strong for you, but you can always dial down.

I got the idea from xxtigress? Anywho here is the link to the video and my interpretation softened a bit:

I'd steer clear of very bright versions of either color. Try more muted shades, apricot and copper or plum and eggplant.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

This sounds like it would be lovely, but my eye shadow literacy is such that this reads like cuneiform :lachen: I'll give it a shot though, thanks!

It does help. I think I'll try a toned down purple and copper and leave the orange for another day.
@ starfish: Thanks! I've got plum too!
