I've started listening to audio books while i work out. I'm only allowed to listen to these books while i'm on the treadmill. So now i look forward to working out to find out what's going to happen next in my book. I've also been staying on the treadmill for longer to hear my story. What do you use to motivate you to work out?

making a playlist for my iPod, pics of physically fit celebs/models who have a similar body type to mine. joining fitness challenge and having to check in weekly.
where are you getting your audio books from?

i put pics of me at my current weight on my mp3 player. i also have pics of fitness inspirations and some eyecandy girls. i set it as a slideshow so that when i feel like giving up on my running, i am motivated to keep going.

I have to have some sort of goal in mind like a particular event whether its a contest, vacation, wedding, graduation, reunion etc to keep me on track.
What keeps me doing my cardio is watching back to back episodes of the King of Queens while I run. Im not allowed to watch this unless im doing my 3pm cardio.
What keeps me in the weight room is definitely my hardcore hip hop. Like my man Jeezy says "MOTIVATION"!

I'm going away to Cancun in July. I keep the white bikini on a hanger on the outside of my closet so I have to see it every morning.
I also have a pic of what I looked like in it the last time I wore it (hot!) and what I look like in it now (very not hot).:nono:

a few things:
- My DD, aged 3.5 yo... she will ask me "Are you gonna do your Powerwalk" as soon as I put the baby down for his nap! :lachen:And while I'm exercising she's right next to me, trying to follow along. She says "I'm exercising just like you Mommy!"
- I'm going to Hawaii in January. While I always stay modest, I do want to look nice, not jiggling all over the place huffing and puffing like I'm going to collapse. I want to make a skirt like this one (i'll pass on the top) to wear when I go horseback riding in Waimea. It wouldn't look right with a big beach ball belly sloshing about... which is what I have now.
ETA:
DH can't keep his hands off of me these past few weeks that I've been faithfully powerwalking 3 miles a day and doing a couple hundred crunches. So he motivates me too.

For me personally it's not an issue of motivation or will power but merely habit. I treat my workout like personal hygiene. I brush my teeth, do my hair, cleanse my body, etc everyday. I feed it everyday, so I exercise every day. I like to keep things simple. Exercise is second nature for me now once I stopped thinking of it as something I'm doing to achieve XYZ and started thinking of it as something I just do because it's necessary. The more emotional you make it, the more difficult it will be. Eomotions are fickle hygiene is necessary.

My motivation is fashion. I want to wear stuff that I just can't wear. And no none of it is is revealing. But, a lot of the old stuff that I want to wear only comes in small sizes. You know vintage clothing is hard to find in a 16.
Also, I just want to stop the generational curse of diabetes, high blood pressure that killed my Grandma and runs rampid through her children today.
I don't have any ilnesses except this extra weight..which is coming off 17lbs lost in like 3 1/2 weeks.

I second that. That's what kick started it for me. I can't wear any of my smaller clothes. I wanna be able to wear maxi dresses without all this arm flab. :wallbash:

Co-sign on the fashion. Many of the sewing patterns for lovely clothes I want to wear don't even come in my size! :perplexed
I also want to show people that it's not just fat girls who dress modestly. There are many many people who truly believe that, you know. They think if a woman had a better body she would automatically want to show it off by dressing in a sexy manner. :nono:
So I can't wait until I've reached my fitness goals. When somebody says "Why are you dressed like that? You should wear ______ (immodest clothing) I can explain the concept and have them HEAR me. When I try to tell folks about modesty as I am now, they look like  Pitch you are just trying to cover that cottage cheese.

I feel you! I dress modestly too. Or on a level that I think is modest. I try to keep everything covered...particularly my boobs. And it's not because I have this extra weight. I am blessed to have an awesome shape etc.. But, that's just not who I am or what I think is right to do FOR ME!
