Okay. So since January I have made loads of progress! I went from 173 pounds (My highest weight ever!!) to my now current 150-152 (depends on the day lol).
I am 5'3. So although I have lost a lot of weight, I am aiming to lost 25 more pounds. I want to be around 125-130.
But anywho....the problem is that I have an unbearable craving....and this craving has always failed me before when losing weight...and it is my craving for salt and spices....and then immediately right after sweets....and then the cycle continues.
I eat tons of ritz crackers, walkerswood jerk seasoning-eaten raw with crackers (which is loaded in salt!)....and then I will crave something extremely sweet right afterwards. Like a piece of cake...or a sweet cereal bar. I feel like something must be wrong personally for the swings in cravings. Has anyone else ever had this issue? Crave sweet and spicy consistently throughout the day?
I just need any recommendations on healthy foods that can help me get my fix. Also any advice on stopping these weird swings in cravings would be great too...any vitamins....anything you can let me know...lol...Because this is just too weird.

It could be a sign of a mineral or vitamin deficiency. I know that craving chocolate is a sign of chromium deficiency (and since I've been taking chromium, I haven't craved any chocolate at all and in fact it has a really strong taste to me now.

I can't really respond about the cravings b/c that's something I'm trying to conquer also, but I wanted to say congrats on your weight loss, that's great! what are you doing to lose the weight?

I just walk away. It really helps me to drink a tall glass of water or some tea when I have a craving. You like salts and sweets so some things that I eat when those craving kick in are motts fruit snacks made with applesauce, choc or cinnamon gram crackers, lf pudding, and I loooove goldfish if Im craving chips or salt.
If you HAVE to have to bad stuff and are trying to be good, Ill take 2 bites and chew each bite 30 times. It satisfies the craving and your done after all that chewing lol HTH

This is very true. Start taking a multi-vitamin in the morning with your breakfast maybe that will help. Also it may just be a habit. I found when I used to eat dessert with my dinner was only because I was just used to doing it, not because I really wanted it.
ACV - Apple Cidar Vinegar tablespoon in morning and night will help with weight loss and sugar.
While trying to kick the sugar or salt when you do do it drink big glass of water after it to weaken the sugar or salt in your stomach.
Fasting and Praying helps also. See this thread

I know exactly how you feel! Two things really decided to make me change my ways...
1) Summer is right around the corner
2) My gym membership ends on June 17
I've been hovering between 148-150 for the past several months and the beginning of this week it really hit me that I need to focus so I can get back down to my goal weight and size (125lbs, sizes 2-4).
I compromised with myself and told myself If I can just eat clean and exercise good for 2 weeks then I'll really be able to see some kind of results...and you know what so far I've lost 1.5-2lbs since Sunday. Like you should really give yourself two weeks before you notice any results. I have one more week to go before I can really assess how much I've lost. Every time I see some kind of junkfood, I tell myself "you know what, that same junkfood is going to be available today and 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 months from now, so just wait and focus on what's important" - and that helps because it really does remind that junk food aint going anywhere, but you know what another Summer will have came and went and I wouldn't be near my goal weight.
I don't like my current size and weight, I miss being "small" so now I'm really focused to get to goal by June 16th. I hope this helps. And also some other members suggested looking into and vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Also what helped me stay focused was reading threads were people say they've noticed increased growth from adding more fruits and veggies into their diets along with vigorous exercise, I want to maximize my hair growth anyway that I can this summer so if these are things I need to eat and do, I'm all aboard! Even in these two weeks, I won't deprive myself, I will allow myself one day each week to eat what I want but in moderation though, like for example If I want a Big Mac and some fries, I'll eat like 1/2-3/4 of the burger and fries and either throw the rest of it away or save it for the next day. I also noticed drinking Green tea has helped a lil bit with my cravings. I also noticed I craved stuff when I wasn't losing weight because in my mind I was thinking "well I'm not losing weight anyway, so I might as well eat it", and thats when I told myself I need to try to give myself two weeks of good eating and exercising (very little junkfood) before I see any kind of results. Sorry for all the rambling lol
