I'm looking for cardio workout's that won't slim the legs and focuses more on the upper body that I can do at home (is there such a thing ?). I don't have access to a stair climber or treadmill unfortunately :nono:...

Any ideas? Thanks!

Step aerobics? Stair climber that was featured in Sleeping with the Enemy or a Stair Master?
The higher the step the more bulk, I think:

ETA: Duh, you said you didn't have access to machines. What about walking up steps, two at a time?

Thanks Nonie... I read that somewhere but I don't have access to that at home.... I was wondering if there was anything I could do (even low impact) workouts at home that will not slim my thighs too much, especially the outer thigh...

I don't own a Step but I once memorized the motions and did them on a step. I just could not do the go-overs, but all the up down foreward and side moves I could do. Maybe wearing ankle weights while you do them?

You can do body weight intervals like burpies, jump squats, plyo lunges, jumping rope in place (knees to chest), etc. Basically you go as hard, as high, and as fast as you can for 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then res by marching in place for 1-2 minutes. Repeat 6-8 times. Use any music you want.:yep: The plyometric explosive nature will cause you to build muscle rather than slimming (like walking, running. or jogging steady state for example).

Also Turbo Jam won't slim the legs since it is kick boxing in nature.

Congrats on your weightloss so far!:yay:

Thanks Nonie... I'm considering investing in a Step like the one you posted above...My sis has one and her legs are looking great :yep:

Thanks Kbragg! I'm half way there ...

I've been doing the jump squats and lunges but need to get some heavier weights... jumping rope is also a great idea, I have 2lbs rope at home that I never use...

How about using the rowing machine?

I would go with a rowing machine as well.

But to be honest, with CARDIO, your body is going to slim all over (or drop fat where it needs to) regardless of what you do. You cannot target a specific area with cardio.

You should add specific weight training or plyometrics to target the MUSCLES of your legs to get nice toning of the muscle to combat your overall % in fat loss.

Plyo does a booty good:yep: P90X Plyometrics is my LEAST favorite workout and I want to bite Tony on the nose while doing it:lachen:but it does make the booty POP!:spinning:

Jump rope, jumping jacks, mountain climbers - all cardio workouts that does not require alot of equipment just jump ropes.
