I am the maid of honor and I have a TON of makeup but don't know what to wear for the wedding. This is my dress:

I have mostly MAC, Make Up For Ever, and Urban Decay. Do you have any recommendations? I don't know if I should wear powder or liquid foundation. I have MAC Studio Tech, Studio Fix Powder, and a powder foundation from Make Up For Ever. Help! I don't know about wedding makeup.

I would say go with which ever foundation lasts the longest and gives you the most "matte" finish. You will be in a lot of pictures and don't want to look shiny. And make sure you have a small clutch with a powder and a small lippie for touchups. I can't tell whether the dress is blue or purple? The bride doesn't have any "requirements"? I would start with her and do what she says. I do a take on a "smokey" eye with a medium gray shadow and whatever color I am wearing.
It makes it less dramatic for daytime, but still looks banging!
I would practice at home and see what you like. How much time till the wedding?
HTH!

Kind of like this, you can go as light or as dark as you want with the smokiness...

Definitely go with the foundation that lasts the longest and gives you a matte look, like previous poster said. Also for a wedding I would do a natural look. If you want to accent with a little color then definitely do so but I wouldn't go all out unless the bride okays it first.
Personally I find that for my bridesmaids, they get a nice natural look with a nude lip color and they rock! They definitely don't want to upshow the bride, who will more than likely be fiercely natural. Alot of color at a wedding for makeup to me, isn't very flattering.

The bride said I can wear whatever I want. The dress is a dark purplish-blue. It was actually much darker than we thought it would be when I ordered it. I went to MAC and purchased "Silver Ring" and "Contrast." "Contrast" is a blue with a hint of purple. The MAC artist said that I could use "Bronze" with both "Silver Ring" and "Contrast." I have to play around with that. I don't want to go overboard.
Hi Bronxcutie, :hiya:
Even though the bride said you could wear whatever you liked, I personally would go with a neutral color scheme. Bronze, browns, tans, creams, black, silvers, etc. can be so beautiful applied correctly. If you want more 'pop', smoke it out some.

What Tee suggested is great. You could sorta incorporate the dress color into a neutral eye by using Blooz, or Prussion eye pencils to line an otherwise neutral eye. It will make it pop just a little bit.Personally, I would only do StudioTech if you are gonna wear a Mac foundation. You can use blot powder to set it. I would NOT use any other MAC foundation b/c most of them photograph horribly. I would also personally recommend Mary Kay foundations. They stay allllllll day and they photograph lovely.
You could do..
Bronze ,Sable or Satin Taupe on lid
Brown Script and Handwritten in crease
Era for highlight
Line on the bottom with a blue liner(one of the ones mentioned above)
Black mascara
Lips-Jubilee lipstick with Cork liner. or even Viva Glam V lipglass
Cheeks-a soft color like coppertone or desert rose

I think I could use MAC's "Corduroy" for the brown.

I would definitely go for a liquid or cream foundation, because some powders contain titanium dioxide that reflects flash, so even if the color matches your skin perfectly you will get the "halo" effect. For makeup you could try:
Lid: paint or paint pot all over or urban decay primer potion(painterly or whatever color you have), Beautiful Iris on the lid
Crease: Saddle
Highlight: Naked lunch or shroom
Outer corner/"v":Shadowy lady
Upper and lower liner: black
Lashes
I think that would make the colors in your dress pop and be soft enough for a wedding look. HTH!

that Silver Ring and Contrast should be nice. do the silver ring in the corner of the eye and the contrast on the lid and blend. use a neutral color on the crease and a highlight on the browbone. use black eyeliner and wing it out a little bit. not too heavy. use a neutral or light rose color lip. what blush do you have?
