Last month I was testing some new organic cleansing products for a company and the instructions on how to use it were very specific.

I had to wet my face and rub in the cleanser in a circular motion around my face for at least a minute, and then use a damp cloth to wipe off. My started skin clearing up.

Now the test is over and I've gone back to Dr Bronners, and the clearing up seemed to have stopped. I decided to use the instructions for the other cleanser with Dr Bronners and my face looks like it's clearing up again.

So remember ladies, sometimes it's not just what you use, but how you use it.

My friend brought the book by Dr. Susan Taylor, and she said the same thing, which is to wash face for a minute. My friend started this method and said stubborn bumbs were going away. I started it but stopped; I will start again. I feel like I do wash for a minute. I am curious, how are people washing their face. Are you using a rag or your hands? I find when I wash with my hands for a few days, I get build up. I like the rag (disposable) but like to take a break here and there.

My skin is the best it ever looked ever since I started using the AHA cream by Alpha Hydrox. However, I have also been washing my face with Clearasil Scrub. I wash and rub for less than 1 minute I believe but I leave the product on my face on while I do something else and then rinse off. I think I could exfoliate my skin even more if I used a washcloth.

I put some cleanser in my hand before I step into the shower... then just wash away.

Seems to work for me...

It makes sense when you think about it. You would not get your hands clean if you didn't rub them well enough with soap on them before rinsing them off. Think about what you would do if you accidentally touched poop. You'd lather your hands well and rub and rub for a good spell to make sure you remove every trace of that stuff, before rinsing off. It would make sense that when washing the face, the same thoroughness is exercised to get it clean. :yep:

That said, because I don't use cleansers, but use oil, I don't know if it's the same thing but I do massage the oil in well before wiping off. When I used cleansers, while I made sure to thoroughly massage them in, it was the rinse that I did forever. Erno Laszlo folks who taught me how to wash my face believed in 30-50 splashes after cleansing. My skin was always very clear, so I'm sure there was sth to that.

I have been using Neutrogena stress free oil free mirco scrub cleanser. I use a wash cloth. I scrub in circular motions for about 20 seconds, but I really do scrub my face. I do this twice a day and haven't had a breakout since August. This is definitely working for me.

That's exactly how i wash my face!:yep: I learned that from an esthetician at my favorite spa. Keeps your pores so clear... But i also believe that the product is also important depending on your skin type...
