Ok so I have combination/ oily skin. My T-zone get progressively oily throughout the day. Its not as bad as some but I do get kinda shiny and around my mouth is really dry if I don't moisturize. I rarely get pimples or breakouts. Ok so that's a little background on my skin.
I used to use Cetaphil when I was in high school but it didn't work as well when I started wearing makeup so I switched to proactive. I know I know, I don't have problem skin so why would I use it. I just used it because my mom was....lol My skin def didn't need that so I switched from that to olay moisturizer but it felt like a coat was over my skin. You know the kind when your mom used to rub lotion on your face before you go off to school....lol...like that!!! Then I switched to Eucerin....man is that stuff greasy!!!!! And Neutrogena sucked too!!! Then in college I started using the Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser...great stuff!!!!...but their moisturizer broke me out!!!!!!!! Then I switched to Aveda Kinectics cleanser and moisturizer....you know the one that's $30 each....That stuff is crap!!!!! It broke me out so bad so one of my friends suggested that I wipe my face with a warm rag everyday and then sleep face up with olive oil on my face!!!! OMG!!! It worked!! my face cleared up in no time...but I was still on the hunt for a great cleanser and moisturizer and my mommy suggested that I try Mary Kay 3-in-1 cleanser and moisturizer and that's what I've been using since. I just rub my face down in olive oil and then put the Mary Kay cleanser over it and rinse and then moisturize!!!!! but........
It is sooooo not convenient to have to find a mary kay lady and afford that stuff on my own. I think the price really doesn't bother me that much but its the inconvenience that gets me. I just can't run to the store and pick some up if I run out. That's so frustrating. So I saw a youtube review by queenofblending saying that PurMinerals Mudd Masque was really good. And I will be getting an Ulta store by me within the next few month's so I've been thinking of trying this since I never used a mask before. But I think I might switch from Mary Kay to something else. Now that I have bored y'all with my frustration:look::look:...would you please suggest something that you think would help me??? I need a great moisturizer and cleanser

Thanks!!!!

Use the cetaphil that is for normal to oily skin. It removes makeup well but you might need something to get your eyeliner/mascara off. Follow that up with a gentle moisturizer. I love Clinique oil free one. I forget the name, but it's one of the yellow ones. I also like Clinique moisture surge. Neutrogena Fresh moisture is nice too. Then get an oil control gel (clinique pore minimizer is a great one) and apply that to your t zone.

Honestly if the mary kay works I would buy 2 at a time or look for deals on ebay. I know how hard it is to find a cleanser you like.

it might sound like alot of money but atleast you know it works instead of wasting money on products that might not work or even worse, make your skin flare up to a point where mary kay cant fix it and your back to square 1. so when you think about it $50 isnt that much. look on ebay they have mk for cheaper prices.

Ummm I would say take it back to basics and go from there.

I have combination skin with an oily t zone. I had been experiencing breakouts and decided to take it back to basics.

I have tried a few of the lines that you spoke about but all with bad results. My dermatologist reccomended dove hypoallergenic soap for sensitive skin. It is gentle and cleanses beautifully IMO. Lately after reading great things about it on the board, I started mixing my dove twice a week with baking soda. So i lather my hands with the soap and add the baking soda. Great exfoliater and polisher and my skin is starting to get back to my college days! Love it.

I use ponds makeup remover and then either a cetaphil moisturizer or the...gosh I cant remember the other one. Even better these are all cheap and can be found in the drug store...HTH.
