Talking about some "You're tiny." I ain't huge but I sure as heck ain't tiny. When he asked me how much I weighed, I did lie down by like 10 lbs :giggle:.

I went there to by a 12 lbs body bar. I called earlier this morning to make sure they had them in stock. Whoever answered the phone supposedly checked and said yes, 12 lbs body bars were in stock.

Why when I went there, after 8 hours of work and almost 2 hours in school, with a pounding headache no less, they only had 9 and 15 lbs body bars?!?! I'm like "This is why I called in advance."

Salesman was like, "9 lbs would be better for you and your frame. You're tiny () and the 12 lbs would make you bulk up and look weird." While planning my purchase, I was vacillating between the 9 and 12 lbs. I finally settled on the 12 lbs thinking it would give me more of a challenge.

I went ahead and got the 9 lbs, however, since I was already there and I am a beginner. I will get my 12 lbs body bar eventually. So Mr. Salesman, I was going to leave the store with a purchase. No need to jazz me up!

Does anyone use a body bar? What weight do you use? Does it help with your toning?

He may have thought you were tiny by comparing you to men, or even bigger women that come in. I don't mean as in weight alone, but as in muscle size.

i do have a body bar, but mine is the one that came with my Firm set. It is 8lbs I think.

It is good for stability in doing some exercises where I need to balance and some resistance in some ways, but it is not hardly heavy.

I could not depend on it alone. Even the way the weight is spread across it unlike that of free weights, it just does not give me as much resistance.

But I enjoy mine and I am glad to have it in my collection.

You will not bulk up from lifting a 12 pound bar. That absolutely ridiculous! I can use 15 pounds and over for arm exercises per arm, and you can see in my siggy that my arms are not bulky. They aren't even defined yet. He just wanted to sell that 9 pound one to you.
