View Full Version : Booty without the gym?

Long story short, I have a tear drop butt. I hate it and it looks hideous because I have rather large quadriceps. I’m not asking for a Buffy the Body or Deelicious booty because I don’t want that at all.:nono: I just want a rounder, firmer butt.

I’ve been doing lunges and squats, with my own body weight and small dumbbells, like crazy for months now yet my butt is still pancake like.:wallbash:

Are there any butt transforming/lifting/firming routines or exercises that you can do without gym equipment that actually work? Or is going to the gym unavoidable?

I'm thinking it's those very exercises that are making it worse maybe :ohwell: especially w/ the small dumbells.

What happens if you do nothing? My butt looks best when I don't exercise

I'd like to hear some tips, too. I REALLY want to build myself a booty! I'm way self-conscious about it--hate ppl seeing me from behind--esp my man when I'm naked... :( I think I'd do about anything to have a butt....

My rear is flat and wide like a pancake and it slacks definition.I am apple shaped, so I am trying my hardest to build butt muscles. I stair climb on a stairmill for 20mins, I walk on 15%-20% incline on a tredmill at a 1.5-2.0 pace I want to feel my butt burn. I do squats and lunges, side lunges, dead lifts, with and with out weights.
I went on a body building website to see what they do to get round rears, it basically heavy weight lifting and low reps. Eating protien to build mucles. Drinking water and doing cardio.
There is no magic potion to get speedy results its going to take alot of hard work.
My brother,dad and sister have round butts, genetically I know its possible for me to build one.

OP: I know exactly how you feel! My booty is coming a long. Even my hubby noticed! I've been following the ChaLEAN Extreme program and for the first time ever I had a little somethin' growing back there! The program is not cheap though. P90X works too. Basically anything that you can lift heavy weights reaching failure by the 6-8th rep will build bulk on the booty. But it has to be true failure not just muscle fatgue. It's not going to happen just using body weight. Actually using body weight alone or light weights will trim your butt even more. I learned this the hard way after Slim in 6:nono:

I was going to say this. From my understanding the key to lifting and developing butt muscles is to use heavy weights. When you are doing something with little to no weight you are trimming the booty and us flat butt girls can't risk losing what little butt we do have.

Yes, use heavy weights when you want to bulk. If you've been doing countless lunges with lightweights, it's more kinda cardio work. I'm telling you girl, strain a bit and use as much weight as you can, your booty will grow.

If you don't have gym access, try squatting while leaning against a wall, and keep squatting until you can't take it anymore. Try this for like 10 mins worth of reps, maybe even while you eat your breakfast to take your mind off of it.

Not necessarily....you can purchase leg weights and do side extensions/leg lifts :yep:

but what if i'm trying to slim my thighs at the same time?

If you focus on going deep with your squats and lunges and making sure to push through the heel and stick your booty out your thighs shouldn't bulk up.

Also if you have some weight to lose, focus on that first then switch to muscle building as you need to take in more calories to build size.

I actually find it's the opposite for me. Going deep with the squats engages my thighs. Going just halfway down hits butt alone, which means I can use heavy weights to build my butt without my thighs bulking up.

For your thighs, I recommend doing Callanetics. I used to have thighs that rubbed and bruised till they'd be raw just from walking. Now when I'm working out regularly, I have a hint of a gap. Kept my butt from disappearing with halfway squats and kept my thighs slim with Callanetics.
