View Full Version : Trimming arms and back fat
Does anyone have a tried and true method for slimming upper arms and getting rid of back fat?
I can easily lose weight in my middle and lower body, but I have huge, flabby arms. I have never had slim arms, even when I was a size 6.
I feel as though if I don't tighten up my arms before I turn 40, I will never do it.:wallbash:

I'm the same way. I'm going to try lifting 5 pound weights a few times a week. I started last week and I plan to do the exercises every other day.

I'm trimming some arm fat right now and I approach it the only way I know how - cutting down on portions, aerobic and weight training...
It will happen, just be patient :)
I used to have the slimmest arms, but when I gained a little weight all the weight goes to my upper arms, my booty and my thighs.

I cleaned up my diet and do cardio 4x and strength training 3x a week. I'm thinking of replacing a day of ST with cardio though.
Though I have more definition then ever, they are still a quite gross.
I watched Daddy's Girls last night and Vanessa and Angela have the smallest arms. I would kill for arms that skinny. I don't think slim arms are in my future though.
What shape are you? Are you a cone?

I am cone shape aka apple shape. I was working out yesterday thinking I need to shape up my arms before summer. I had success before with push ups and jumping rope.

The only thing that I've notice with trimming my arms is running. But I think it's mostly the arm-pumping motion going on. Pushups or anything w/ weights just bulks them up :nono:

The bolded is precisely my problem; although my arms look much better than they used to. I don't know what more can be done to lose the flab on my arms. At this rate I will have to be 90 lbs (I am 5'6" :ohwell:) to get a flat tummy or non-flabby arms:sad:

Lifting weights and making sure you are eating enough "good" calories should help. Eating less calories will only put you in starvation mode and retain fat. That's why there are slim ladies with flabby arms. Building muscles will only make them soild. And you would have to be on steroids or "supplements" to get big buff arms. If you are eating right you won't get bulky arms.

I believe it is the same with power walking. Since I have been walking, I have noticed some trimming of the arms but I think I shouls throw in some light weights. Pushups I do like to do because it seems to work well too and it helps the chest area. Food portion control, drinking lots of water, and walking has helped alot in the back area. I am really seeing great improvements. Currently, I just a couple of pounds from the 30 pound lost mark. It has only been by the grace of God and seriously putting to mind to do my part have reached this great achievement. I have not lost weight of this magnitude in years. I am very grateful.
