yesterday. I haven't tried them yet but I'm hoping and wishing that they don't fall off like the episode of the Cosby show when Rudy's friend's eyelashes fall off at the party!!
I'm so excited to try them though. I've always admired the look. Has anyone tried these? How do they work for you? I'll try to post pics of the test run.

Good luck. I can barely put my glasses on without whacking my eyeballs! Are they individuals or the ones in a row? I did love those "fox" fur eyelashes JLO sports.

I've tried to apply falsies with out success. My lashes are too curly, makes it impossble to position them correctly. Let us know how it turns out!

godzooki I took a chance and bought the full ones. I was planning on sporting them tonight (Friday) but I ended up sending time w/ my lil niece and nephew instead. I'm determined to be glorified or humiliated by these things this weekend-- I have to try em.
Digitalrain, your lashes must be gorgeous. I don't know what it is about mine. They look long in some of my pictures but they look like mini-me in real life. They need some length, thickness and all the other good stuff.

I wore them for the first time at a wedding recently - but they were put on by a makeup artist. I sincerely doubt that I'm coordinated enough to pull it off on my own. I really loved the look though.
The artist told me that the key is to trim them so that they're sized to your eyelids correctly. And she applied the glue using a cut-off que-tip. And waited a sec for the glue to get slightly tacky before she applied it. I have long lashes naturally but I really liked the way they were extra thick with the falsies.

OK - relax you can do this. They can be soooo fun. I wear them when I'm trying to be superfantabulous (which is not that often - but when I do I am OFFF THE HOOK ;-)
The best tip I got was to allow the glue to dry a little on the strip before pressing it to your lid. (a little blowing maybe a little waving) It helps to not have too much glue on your lid and it's ready to 'stick' when you get it in place.
ps if ever you feel that they are coming loose (which I've never had happen) I've been told to hit the bathroom and just take then off and put them in your purse to not end up like that episode of the Cosby's.

Calbear,
You sound very experienced with false eyelashes. Hmmmm, you are right here in Oakland with me. Perhaps I should schedule an appointment with you to have some applied. I have bought them and attempted to apply them for years but I have never been successful. Perhaps an appointment with you would steer me in the right direction. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was getting fake lashes about 2 months ago. I use to go to the salon to get them done. They last about 1 month before they start looking frayed. But beware of this method. If they are not removed properly, they take your own lashes out.

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif They have semi permanent ones? Ok, I'm definitely getting these for my vacation. Do they last in salt water? How much does this usually cost?
Thanks to you ladies my lash flashing experience was great. I applied the fakes lashes close to the lashline and they were un-de-tectable. They lasted the entire night and came off after I washed with soap.

Gosh I will I had skills to apply them. I would love to see how I would look with them. They tend to look so great one some people.

candycane, calbear, I'm not in Oakland but I'm in Walnut Creek so howdie! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif Are fake lashes easy to remove? Are they a quick item to do or should they only be used for things like weddngs or other gala type things?

Hey Sweetie:
I wish I were an expert. At one point I reallllly wanted to be a makeup artist - so I spent a WHOLE bunch of time at the MAC counters just to learn different techniques. I made some really great friends at the counters and they would let me get in real close to see what they were doing. I wish we could all get together (I see quite a few people have mentioned it in the announcements section but nothing ever comes of it). Makeup and hair are my two obsessions right now - well besides tattoos and piercings ;-)

Waving back ;-) Hey girl. With a little practice they can be a quick thing (and even pretty natural looking if you pick the right ones). Depending upon what kind of glue you use- they should be easy to get off. I have actually just removed them with a light tug and didn't pull off any of my own lashes.

They do have them. I have wore them as long as a month. You can wash your face as if they are not on your eyes. I loved them but I found that my own lashes were thinning and THAT was not a cute sight. I just have to go back to let them take them off the next time I decide to have them done. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmmm could you recommend a place? I'm guessing I would have to go to a M.A.C counter or a J.C Penny styling salon to get this done. How much did they charge for the service?
I'm really in need of serious pampering. My time has been stretched in the past year so I haven't had time to get back to Me. i.e. I haven't had a professional pedicure or manicure in so long...it's ridiculous. I'm going on vacation soon so I'd love to give this a try.
My inner diva needs a jump start.
