I have been looking all over the net trying to find out what this man does to his skin. I'm am in awe. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif It's so smooth and flawless. I saw one picture of him in a magazine and his skin literally looked like a baby's. It had not one flaw. It was so smooth and glowing. Now i don't want to accuse him of wearing makeup (although many stars do!) so ladies let me know any secrets that would help my skin not be so blotchy. It would be nice to get my skin as close to one color as i can get!

Any suggestions? recipes? store products?

I think it's genetic. He's black and hawaiian. And hawaiians are know to have very gorgeous complexions.

He does have great skin. I don't think he even has a beard, don't men who have shave have kind of a shadow on the face?

I agree with Ayesia & Armyqt - it could be a combination of genetics and chemical peels. Also perhaps he looked after his skin at a very young age which can sometimes be unusual for a man.

well are chemical peels expensive? i've been breaking out since 6th grade and I'm now on accutane but i want to get rid of the marks and the uneven skin tone.
What do you think Hawaiians do for such beautiful skin and hair? Is it something in their diet? Products?

I met him in person a couple of years ago at Madame Tussaud's in NY and his skin is straight-up flawless. His teeth are perfect as well. He was even wearing a sweater very similar to the one in the 2nd pic, if that's not the same one. I agree with what everyone else has said about the chemical peels and genetics. Several years ago, when I got facials and chemical peels on a regular basis(probably for about 2 or 3 months straight, every week), I had movie star skin. No one could tell me I wasn't gorgeous! Of course whatever regimen you use at home is a big part of how your skin will look, but I don't think I've ever met anyone that had beautiful skin like that, besides children, that don't see a professional at least sometimes. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How often are you supposed to do facials and chemical peels? once a week for both seems extreme...and expensive!

Godzooki, yes the chemical peels are a little harsh for every week. I did those every week for about a month because my skin was so jacked up and they really helped me. After my skin got better, I switched to every other or every 3rd week with the peels. But I kept getting the facials every week, because those are really just deep cleansings with extractions. Girl, you ain't neva lied about the price though, because it did add up, but it was worth it to me to have the bomb skin!

Do chemical peels make your face red and blotchy when you first do them? Will I be able to go out in public immediately after?

Godzooki, I think if you get those hardcore ones from a dermatologist, then I think you will have the red blotchy skin. But I got mine from an esthetician and those are much milder. But depending on your skin type and what exactly it is that you're trying to correct will determine what you need.

Aveda has natural products for their chemical peels and facials (they use it in the salons), I plan to go to the salon for one in a few weeks http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

lol jainygirl!!!! he is looking good!!! i was saying that when I was looking for the pictures!!!
So MzAvalon, how much did they cost? I'm considering getting a facial or chemical peel just a few times to help with the old acne marks if my budget allows.

Bellydancer, it's been quite a while so don't qoute me on this. But, I received different ones that ranged in price from $40-60? This was 3-4 yrs. ago at a suburban salon. Not bad at all, considering what you get in return. It would probably be much more at an upscale place. If you have problem skin, it's going to take several visits, plus a good at-home regimen to see results. All this talk of gorgeous, glowing skin has got me thinking about going back to my old place and getting one! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What's the difference between a facial and chemical peel? I guess chemical peels are more hard core, eh?
I've never had a real facial--well once I signed up to get a free one from Clinique and it was basically them using their 3 step products and scrubs and masks and such--don't know if that counts. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
