At the same time am not knocking the homegrown concoctions that you fabulous women have come up with to grow lashes. the before and afters look pretty good. Anyway I just wanted to let you guys know what's out.

That is interesting. I am sure it is the first in a series of drugs that will address this so I always like to wait and see how well they work. I am not digging the side effects on this one - darkening of the eyelid and permanent pigmentation to the colored part of the eye. It seems like much just to lengthen the lashes but I am sure some will go for it anyway. I wonder what their target market is - those who are vain or those who have lost their lashes due to illness. I am going to boookmark that and check on it in a few months. Thanks for posting it.

Hey, what are LHCF members using to grow their lashes long?

Ever since OrangeMoon turned me on to silk amino acids, I'm straight! I pour a little bit in my MASCARA and my eyelashes STRETCH in an amazing way!
Not really stretch, but there's a definite (natural) extension.

Silk Amino Acids (or SAA) is some ingredient found in lots of hair products that contributes to conditioning and growth (I believe).
If you do an LHCF search, it will come up....
HTH....

Invisablelee i agree with u on the side effects part. I think the saa and castor oil is good enough. I know one girl who said she knows someone who is using because she hand cancer and lost her eyelashes and hair. she says her lashes are growing back in nicely. in my opionion i would only use this if i was in that situation. Am not knocking anyone who wants to try it. it didn't say who it was targeting as far as the marketing goes. When i read about it in the mag it said something like "if you want long lashes like kim kashdashin (sp) try this eyelash grower. so i assume that they are targeting this to everybody.:look: your welcome too I.lee:yep:

I never thought to put it on my moisturizer. I put it on my mascara but since I don't usually use mascara, I have to make an effort to remember to use it.

A co-worker got her doctor to prescribe Lumigan(the glaucoma drug) with the the active ingredient Birmatropost which is in Latisse. Latisse is a weaker formula. I now know a bunch of women that is ordering the generic birmatropost and using it.
I had no idea that mom's glaucoma drug could get me batty lashes.

Not worth it, an article came out about possible side effects. The solution costs about $160.00 and if one stops the hair follicle shortens up again so it must be used for life. And it masks the symptoms of glaucoma. I had wanted to use it for my eyebrows since I have thick and too many lashes already but my doctor told me all of the above, I quickly changed my mind. And it also makes the eyes darker unless someone has clear crystal blue eyes and it can make the eyelid reddish.
Best,

My dermatologist sells Latisse for $90.00 which should cover thirty days. Of course the generic Lunigan is much cheaper. Discussions today with derm stated that folks with brown eyes don't have the problem with eye darkening...I guess it's just not detected.
Yes, you will have to use it for life to make the effects stay around.
