Good question. I'd like to know the answer too. There were times during the day where I felt very strange and wondered if someone was praying for me.

i don't think telling God "i love this one" or "hate that one" is praying for someone, it more like speaking good or bad over them ...but when we pray in line with the word of God for that which is good and upright for others it does affect them..... JMHO..
i'am sure the other ladies on board can be more detail.........

I've never heard this before. Where did this theory come from?

Yes, I believe so. In 2003, I was online chatting in Yahoo( christian room) when this kid came in the room. He claim that he wanted to kill himself. Everyone in the room sort of ignore him and for some reason it was like I was the only one who could see him.
I spoke to him on yahoo voice chat. It was clearly not a joke. This young man had a lot on his plate. He had lost his dad to drugs and alcohol. He was struggling with school and was living alone with his mom. His mom also had a drug and alcohol problem. She had numerous men coming over to sleep with her and abuse her. He witnessed the whole thing. Night, after night he would pick up his mom from the floor and put her in her bed.
He was crying and he has no more hope. I decided to call him on the phone. I spoke to him and he told me had taken over 50 pills of vicoden( if i remember correct). I didn't know what that was at the time. But I told him to throw up ....I could clearly hear him vomiting and hear the vomit going in the toilet bol. Throughout the conversation I prayed god to guide me and help this kid. I stayed a long time on the phone with him...Until 5 am in the morning ( started talking to him a 9 PM).
I convinced him to start focusing on the positive things. I also told him that if his mom saw him turn his life around. she would get hope and might want to do the same. He wanted to go to school and I told him about student loans and what they ask, how to apply( I'm a former financial adviser). Right after I hung up on him, I prayed really hard and asked god to be by his side and look over him. I prayed to god to be watchful and protect him from doing anymore harm to himself.
Towards noon, I called the boy back. He was asleep and I had waken him up. He told me something that came out of the blue. He told me the weirdest thing happened last night. After you hung up it was like I wasn't alone anymore. I slept nicely it was like i was resting in someone's arms and that no one could ever hurt me. I felt safe like a baby in a parent's arm. That is when I knew that when you pray for someone they feel it.

BHD that was beautiful. God used you in a mighty way. Keep letting Him use you, girl. Do you still keep in touch with him--the kid?

I did keep contact with him for like a week. The very next day, he went to apply for a student loan. He was looking for school programs and everything. He was a totally different person. He felt very very optimistic.
I did cut ties with him to let him walk on his own.
My mom went to similar things like that. Many times people called home and would talk to her. Mom saved a lot of folks who where on the verge of killing themselves. I didn't even know it until I told her my story.
I spoke the guy and at the time I was in my early 20s.

No, I don't think this is true. But I think you can feel/hear GOD when prayers are answered.

Here's another example...sometimes when I watch those unsolved murder stories on cable they sometimes say the criminal prayed on his or her victims...then what do they mean by this.....
YES! I believe you can. My friend swears that she can feel one of her prayer mothers prayers resting at the foot of her bed.

prey--to victimize another; to hunt and kill for food (as in animals); to take advantage of, exploit, or injure
