Eating Tumeric powder has the same effect on skin as does using the creams that contain it and even more powerful. Tumeric powder when eaten acts as a natural antisepetic to the skin. It clears ecezma and acne. I know many Indians that I went to college with and their skin was flawless, used tumerici powder on everything. It will stain your hands b/c it is the same ingredient that is in mustard. You can get a huge bag of it at the Indian and Health food stores.

How do you prepare the powder for ingestion? Do you put it in a drink?

Yes India people use it a lot in all if not most of their meals. (e.g. curries) Tumeric powder can can also be applied directly on the skin as a mask when mixed with water/rosewater to form a smooth paste then applied thinly on the face. The good thing about it is that it can be used daily as a mask since its natural product and is mild. It does leave you skin with a yellowish tint though.

Sprinkle over food. Two teaspoons a day is enough. Some people put it over their cereal. Aikaa71 is correct about the yellowish tint. It will stain anything it touches soo be careful. I really do think this spice is the secret to flawless skin.

and hair!!! i read on some indian hair site that tumeric was great for healthy hair. well maybe that's why their hair is so darn long!!! i got a big bottle of that stuff. i need to start using it.
I was doing some research on turmeric powder and a couple of the sites said that it can reduce facial hair. Having said that, I hope you'll only be ingesting it. If it can slow/reduce facial hair, I don't think that I would want to apply it to the hair on my head.

I ordered the Turmeric Powder, Sadalwood Powder and bought some raw, unrefined honey added lemon and made me a mask. It stinks but my pimples are drying up. I have only been doing this for the past two days so I don't know what the long-term effects are yet. I'll keep ya'll updated.
Yes, it does stain your hands and face yellow. If you put Noxema on your face the yellowish tint comes off very well. You still may have a little residue but not very much. I would also suggest rinsing the turmeric in a sink that is stainless.

I think I may have to pass on this. Having to be so careful with the turmeric is what is turning me off.

Oh, I didn't take it orally, I used it as a mask with lemon and another powder. I like simplicity and it was too messy for me.

Tumeric is potent so a small amount is sufficient.I mix sandlewood and a bit of tumeric with rosewater and apply as mask. mixing with sandlewood "soaks up" the staining power of tumeric but you can still feel it tingle.
