Ladies,

What I stumbled upon was just too good to keep to myself. I regularly subscribe to shape magazine (women's fitness) and I decided to visit their web-site to look up some new healthy recipes for the new year.

I was presently surprised to find a new on-line tool that is FREE. The web-site link is http://www.shapedietplan.com/sdp/reg/home.html.

The site offers a lot. I could see myself paying someone big bucks to do exactly what the on-line program does. The program offered does an initial assessment of your fitness goals and how much weight you may need to lose. Based on body measurement calculations and your self-answered questions, the program generates a personalized diet and work-out program that will allow you to reach your goals.

I am extremely impressed. The site allows you to track your progress with a weekly weigh in, update your daily meals (track caloric, fat%, protein%, and carb %) based on what is suggested. You can set your own options if you are a vegetarian and etc. or do not drink milk products. You also can choose what type of workout you like to do (group or individual exercise. The site allows you to update your workouts daily and fine tune them to meet your needs. The site is FREE and absolutely incredible. This is exactly the type of regimented program that I need to keep track of what I am eating and my portions, allow me to log my workouts, and monitor my progress on a daily basis. I cannot stress how much I love the site.

This is my first week on the program. You can join and start at any time. If anyone is trying to get into shape, tone their muscle, lose weight, or just establish a healthier lifestyle but does not have the money to pay a fitness guru to design a plan for you (diet and workout) then this is an option. If anyone would like to join me, it is not too late!!

Just let me know and we can motivate each other.

This site is incredible, check it out if you get a chance and are interested

Happy fitness goals to all in '09.

I checked it out. It's really cool. Signed up, although I dunno if I will stick to checking in on it, hopefully the emails help. I'm kinda bummed about the goal they set for me though. They said on this plan, I will only lose about 32lbs.

I requested to receive my meal and work out plan on the day before, so I got my set for tomorrow and I must tell you that it looks weird. The meal options are kinda wack.

Keep in mind that you can change the meal options. I have substituted for them already. You go in under the add/edit option and can choose food items that match what you actually ate for that day. For example yesterday they gave me the option of having a peach, plum and whole wheat bread for breakfast. I ate none of those given options. I simply went in under the log your meals section and put in what I actually ate. I hope all this makes sense. It took me a while to figure it out. Plus it allows you to save "favorite meals" that you eat regularly so that you don't have to continue to add/edit those meals especially if you eat them regularly.

I am finding it easier to reserve 5-10 minutes of my time in the evening so I can go in and update what I actually ate instead of trying to do it throughout the day. This may work for those who are really busy throughout the day and cannot update during the workday. You also can go in at the end of the week and update your stuff if you can remember what all you ate during the week. I think it is best to try and do it at the end of the day so you can "reflect" on what you ate and try to eliminate bad eating patterns. But update whenever works best for you.

I also chose to have my workouts/meal plans e-mailed to me a day in advance. You can also go in under the 7 day plan and see what you have scheduled for the week. If you don't like how something is going, you can change your plan as you go along.

I too have to lose roughly 32 lbs. It seems like most of us are around the same starting weight. They are basing that off a healthy weight loss goal of 1-2 lbs a week over a year. But by all means if you want to try and lose more, than go for it.

Alright, hang in there ladies....so far so good!!

I am headed to whole foods today to grab some stuff that I could not get at schnuck's. I plan to Acai berry supplement to help as well. In addition to my daily multi-v and omego fish oils.

Yeah that is kind of weird, but I am 163 lbs, and I think another poster mentioned they were 162. I am 5'7'' if that helps. That would be funny if we all were at the same starting point.

I am loving the calorie log. Logging in what all I eat on a daily basis is really FORCING me to cut out mindless acts of eating (and random snacking). I definately believe I suffer from emotional eating. So far I have stayed within my program set daily caloric intake numbers. I do need to increase my snacks though. Today I only ate three meals, and I should have had those 2 built in snacks (am/pm) to keep my metabolism going. Tomorrow my snacks will be a small apple and a thing of low fat string cheese.

I am also looking into adding a protein shake since I am doing strength training twice a week right now with my kettlebell.

I also want to experiment with tofu!!

I got the same and I plugged in my pregnancy measurements (48 in waist ). It gave me something like 47% body fat but all I had to lose was 32lbs...hmm... I've already gained 37lbs and was 10 lbs above my normal weight to start so how can those numbers be accurate???
