Cosign... at least it will put the speculation to rest.

This episode is hitting me hard because I can relate to way too much of what she is talking about.

I'm watching! I've never seen Oprah in this light. I admire her for putting herself out there......

Yup.... I'm amazed this shows that money and power does not buy happiness.... She is one of the most powerful and rich people in the world and she was depressed. I'm amazed the older I get the more I see this to be true.

I agree with her! My drug of choice is FOOD!!!!!!

Cosign on the admiration for her transparency....

I remember Oprah saying she regretted being overweight in her 40s. I don't want to have that same regret...just crossing over into the decade....

I'm watching, O! Thanks for sharing your story.

Her last statement really hit home with me . Despite all that I have endured "my body still worked for me". Despite being me being tired, overwhelmed, depressed at times and my joints hurting terribly from fibromalygia my body still worked and carried me through another year. Instead of being upset for not losing lbs from my frame I should be grateful that my body did what it was supposed to do.

Food is my craving when I want love.

I'm sorry for laughing  Bluewatersoul. Maybe you can watch your portion instead of throwing away the bag. :bighug::cry2:

1. Plan your meals (great idea!)
*** I sit in front of the computer doing my cousin's payroll and bookkeeping. I need to take the same time to create a monthly meal sheet for myself***

She hit me hard when she said " when you see me overweight , it's not about me pigging out it's about my life is out of balance" That is so true for me .

I have just let myself fall into a very bad place in so many ways and the weight re-gain is just an outward symbol of it.

I have to get my life back on par.

Still a little bit foggy re. loving oneself and the weight.... Although let my people tell it, I haven't loved myself in quite a while....

I liked that Bill Greene said that she used her Thyroid disease as a crutch. It was her excuse.

I know someone who just refuses to help themselves loose weight and take better care of themselves and they use their sickness as a crutch when really its about laziness/depression, etc.

So long as she can use her sickness as an excuse, its okay for her to keep eating and its really not. So sad that you may have to work a little harder than most to keep the weight off but stop using it as an excuse.

Well if it were that easy, more people (myself included) would follow through effortlessly. And I confess being part of the laziness/depression crowd. No illnesses and since October 2008 (thank God!), I'm in a much better place and on the way to developing healthier eating/exercise habits.

She will loose it just like she lost it before. I use to think people use illness as a crutch also but what do I know. I've never been in their shoes.
