It is 12:32 p.m. EST and I am here at work hungry!
So far I have had:
Chocolate Slim Fast 180 Cal
Applesauce 60 Cal
Fiber One Bar 140 Cal
And just now due to hunger 2 Polly-O string cheeses
160 Cal.
I would like to keep my limit to 1800 a day. I have a Lean Cuisine meal that is around 300 Cal in my work freezer, but I might go outside and get something. I don't know what to do! I thought Slim Fast was supposed to keep you full for four hours!
I don't know what to eat for lunch!
Any suggestions?

Is there anyway possible you can bring fruit to snack on. If so, bring finger fruit like grapes and other berries that you can just pop into your mouth. Also, and this is just my opinion, you are eating too much processed food. Instead of the Lean Cuisine meals, which have waaaaaaaaaaay too much sodium, try bringing a huge tossed salad for lunch. it will fill you up better so you won't be hungry and you won't get all that sodium for about the same number of calories. When I am home and I get hungry I go fix a quick tossed salad and it curbs the hunger without adding a lot of calories.

How much water are you drinking? When I did Slim Fast years ago, I had success by drinking at least 80oz of water a day. Also, eat more veggies and at least a fruit with your morning slim fast drink.
I hope this helps.

Are you just focusing on food too much?
Are you bored? Can you go for a walk/jog?

I am still working on my 32oz water bottle. I'm not really "on" Slim Fast. I'm just trying different things for breakfast. I really wish I would have ordered an egg white omelette with spinach & Feta, or with turkey bacon for work. I bet that would have kept me full. I am about to go on lunch at 1:30 and I am still trying to decide if I'm going to eat the Lean Cuisine or go out to get a sandwich or salad.

Can you have a bowl of oatmeal to start your day? That always keeps me going...and I do have a lot though. Also I find eating large in the AM and less as the day goes by tricks your metabolism and keeps it on a high for most of the day burning calories while you don't do much. Just a thought.
Bring low calorie snacks like baby carrots that you can munch on in between meals. When you drink your SlimFast, are you drinking it slowly, savoring and enjoying every sip?

Are you sure that you are hungry, or are you thirsty? My rule was that anytime I got hungry and it didn't 'seem' like I should be, I had to drink 32 oz of water, and wait 15 minutes. If I was still hungry, then I got something to eat. Most of the time, I wasn't 'hungry' anymore.

I drank it slowly. I have come to the conclusion that I have to eat my meals, not drink them. I will go back to the egg white omelettes. I think an egg white omelette and some fruit or a yogurt would have kept me full longer. I just had a ham and cheese wrap on a whole wheat tortilla, with lettuce, tomato, and spicy mustard. It filled me up. Since I have to have something sweet after my meals, I have a Del Monte fruit chiller. Since they are a bit high in sugar, I scooped out half of it and threw it away.

I drink a slim fast shake for breakfast 3 mornings out the week and no, it does not keep you full for the 4 hours that they claim... Before I drink mine I drink 16oz of water, then the slimfast at around 9am... I'll also have some baby carrots and and apple. The fiber in the apple keeps me full until 12... are you eating every 2-3 hours?

Ditto on the oatmeal. When I was trying to get in shape for my wedding a personal trainer suggested having my carbs, particularly oatmeal, in the morning. It worked well. On days that I do cardio I always have oatmeal w/flax in the morning and I stay full until it is time for my next meal/snack. A fiber rich meal in the morning really works. That slim fast is sugary and for me drinking that first thing in the morning would have my blood sugar go up and I would be starving all day. IMO slow burning carbs are best in the morning. If you are going to do the slim fast in the morning eat a small serving of oatmeal or something w/it or try a quality protein shake in the morning w/some carbs and fiber added. Also drink lots of water, sometimes what we think is hunger is thirst.
Oatmeal
Boil a whole carton of eggs say, on Sunday, then take 6 with you to work
Eat one when you feel hungry, as a snack
Cook entire package of turkey bacon; and take two slices to work with you each day
Apples
Bananas
Almonds
Yogurt/Granola
String cheese/pretzels
Green leafy Salad and can of tuna

I don't see alot of protein in your breakfast or snack. Protein will keep you full. If you would have had the egg white omelet it would have helped. Also if you are going to have the slim fast add some cheese, and egg, or a piece of fruit with it.
From what you ate, I would be hungry too.

How soon after getting up did you have the slim fast shake? If I take too long to eat in the morning, I can get uncontrollably hungry. I've found that coffee or hot tea helps a lot to cut the hunger.

Judging by what you have listed I say you got too many carbs and not enough protein. Complex carb are notorious for triggering your hungry! And protein is the champ at calming it down. Try to start the day with a high protein bfast. You can still have a bit of carbs just don't over do it.

I've been on Pinskates challenge for the last month where 1 of the goals is to eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies per day, with at least 2 being raw. Over the course of the month I am finding that my appetite is decreasing.
I couldn't drink a meal because it wouldn't feel like I ate anything. I like to snack & I like a salty crunchy snack, so on some days I slice cucumbers and celery and spray it with Wishbone 2 calorie salad spray. It's a very filling snack.
I've been eating more beans & that is a very filling meal. I use curry spice w/ diced onions & mushrooms in chicken stock to cook black beans.
You're right a spinach loaded egg white omelette is filling.

Girl, I know the feeling. I am the same way when I'm sitting around doing nothing. All I think about is food!!! :look: Its best if hungry folks like me just plan on what they're going to eat for a snack before they get hungry! Dlewis already knows the trick, based on her response above. Pre-planned snack portions (about 1/4 of a cup) of nuts, fruit, raisins, snack mixes, or any kind of fruit like apples, banananas, pears, are all low cal, and if they're already prepared will keep you from being a starvin' Marvin when you do feel the urge to eat. I'm a potato chip-a-holic,:lick: but I'm trying to retrain my hungry brain to think nuts, fruit, and water in between meals. :ohwell: It doesn't sound like an exciting alternative, but in the long run, we'll be healthier and have better appetite control. Remember, we want to save most of our daily calories for the main meals, like a good chicken dinner when we get home!!!:yep:

IMO it doesn't seem like you're eating enough. You need more fiber to keep you full. A GREAT breakfast is to make oatmeal/eggwhite pancakes. They're tasty and really filling. I'm not really one for measuring, but to give you a starting point, here goes:
1/2 cup of oatmeal
1 cup or 6 egg whites
cinnamon
Splenda if you use it (I don't anymore)
banana
*If you want to add more protein to your diet, add 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.
Blend all in blender. It will look just like pancake batter.
make just as you would pancakes until bubbly *yadda, yadda, yadda*
Serve w/sugar free syrup (Yuck) or Light syrup (that's what I used) or whatever topping you feel would be healthful. You won't need a lot of syrup if you add bananas.
Two of these will keep you full for hours and they are low fat w/I would guess about 100-150 calories for one pancake made w/cooking spray.
If you're really having trouble w/appetite control, try Glucommanan. You can buy it at Vitamin Shoppe or Whole Foods, et al. It fills you up and it's safe to use. HTH :)
