After all this talk about detoxing and cleansing, I made a trip to the Vitamin shoppe to get a cleanse. They didn't have the one that I wanted (*see Chantille's Thread on Ultimate Fasting Cleanse) but they had the next best thing which is the Ultimate Cleanse.
Regimen: Take one of each tablet twice a day. Morning and Evening
Foods: Water, Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains.
No sugars, flour, fried foods.
Pretty much the usual.
Today is my first whole day since I took my first dosage last night. Let's see how things go. The goal is to achieve two to three BMs a day with the cleanse and the time frame is 14 days, not to exceed 30.

Good luck, Trinidarkie! Good thing is, you'll be eating so healthy for the next 14 days that it just might become a habit. ;)

Thanks Nonie! I hope it's the start of a new habit. I'm loaded up with fruit and I have a bottle of Agave Nectar to use for sweetener for my Green Teas.

Today is Day two and I have a gassy stomach :(
My appetite was insatiable last night and I had no self control, I over ate :(
Although it was an overdose on Jerk Chicken, it was still too much.
I'm going to increase my dosage to two of each pill tonight and see what happens. I had one BM yesterday, but I didn't drink a lot of water either, so that might be why.

Forgive me Trini if you already explained this, but is there protein in this program? Fruits and veggies can give gas and leave me feeling hungry. Protein on the other hand can nip hunger in the bud. So if you're allowed to, eat some along with your fruit and veggies.
Good luck on Day 2.

I was starting to feel gassy yesterday too. With this program, do you only take pills or is there a fiber drink too? And thanks for starting this thread for comparison!!

Nonie this is what the pamphlet says ;
DO I HAVE TO CHANGE MY DIET WHILE CLEANSING?
While taking Ultimate Cleanse, we recommend a whole foods diet that includes a wide range of fresh organic fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Vegetarian protein sources such as nuts and beans help to provide balanced energy levels and are easy for many to digest. If you want to consume animal proteins, high-quality sources of fish, chicken or turkey are optimal. When snacking, emphasize Fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains verus cakes, cookies and simple sugars. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of purified water per day. Proper hydration assists in elimination and is essential for overall good health.

There is no drink THANK GOD! That was the one thing I was going to have a problem with. I'm going to have to suck it up and exercise tonight *shudder*.

The gassy will go away I had too. I don't think I could do the fast but I like this one. I'm not craving sugar and bread like I was before. And fruit actually tastes good to me...especially apple-pears...and speaking of which I'm about to go eat one

I feel very full and have been feeling that way for weeks, so when I eat, after the first few bites I feel stuffed but I am extremely hungry. :(

And how are you doing RoseofLily? Any change in how you feel or BMs?
Trini? Updates?

Hello Ladies, Today is day three and I did well. Why? because I slept most of the day.
Last night was rough, I ended the work day with my fruits and rushed home. I ate some chicken, callaloo, corn and carrot salad, in very small amounts. Until my husband rolled in with a Panzarotti and broccoli bites. I had 5 pieces of the bites and a piece of his crust. I am so weak *hangs head in shame*
Today, I woke up late for work so I took the day and I had a horrible headache, i went back to sleep and woke up around noon and then had my morning dosage, I upped my pills to two of each last night and today. I've been having one BM so far and I have increased my water intake to make sure that I don't have any constipation.
My food intake today was pretty much nothing, I had a cup of green tea and I worked out for almost 2 hours using the programs on my Wii and Wii Fit with games etc. When I weighed, I realize that I lost 4.2 lbs between Thursday of last week and today, so I am very happy about that. I was getting really down because I was steadily gaining weight.
I guess I am doing some thing good. Oh and I have no gas today, it really has passed, or it might be a time of day reaction. For example, the gassy days, I wake up early and eat fruit consistently, whereas today I woke up late and haven't had any fruit.
We'll see.

Day Four: I have been trying to sip on some green tea and it's just not tasting good. My mouth tastes bad and I really don't want any water either. I'm going to try re-heating the tea and getting it down in one big gulp.
I have a bit of gas in my chest, I have fruit, but I really have no appetite. I know I have to keep eating the fruit to at least keep my metabolism going.
No BMs.

OK, Trini, don't make me get my big stick nah!
OK, for the bad tasting water  (Don't tell anyone but I so understand where you are coming from), get some apple juice and add to water in the ratio 1:3--apple juice being the 1...so don't even ack like you thought water was the 1. And just keep making it dilute. After a while, just seeing the color change will be enough to make you enjoy the water. It's how I drink my water. Funny enough, I used to drink tea and coffee w/o sugar when I thought I was sensitive to it--before a test confirmed I could have it. And so drinking herbal tea w/o sugar was the norm. So if I must drink plain water, I actually prefer it warm so I can pretend it's tea.
Instead of green tea, try peppermint...or the fruit teas. Chamomile makes you mellow so I'd not take that in the day unless you want to sleep. I don't know if there are any forbidden teas but lemongrass ginger is a favorite tea of mine. (Best with honey or sugar, but telling you this bit doesn't help now, does it? :giggle: )
Are you eating anything else but fruits? What about almonds? Sunflower seeds? You know there's more food out there than just fruit, right? :look: Should I go find your post to remind you that you can eat other things too? :p Varying your diet might help with the gas.

Nonie, you have me smiling, I'm at work so I have to resist the scandalous laughter. *hee hee*
I prefer easier than trying to be inventive so I eat fruits, that's what I have at home any way. Did I share that I HATE drinking tea? I just need some thing hot on my stomach in the mornings since I've stopped drinking coffee. It's been 3 weeks and counting since I've had a cup of coffee. Old habits are hard to break.
I don't do seeds, I don't do seeds, I don't do seeds. Although I might come back to eat those words, I don't do seeds. I don't mind drinking the water, honestly, but I'm just in 'that' phase I guess. I don't like almonds either. *frown*

Uhmm...
Pray do tell, why don't you do nuts? :badcop:
You do know they're not the same nuts that grow on men, right? I know a lady that was horrified the first time she was served a sausage so just checking.... (True story)
Oh wait, it's seeds you don't do. OK, lets forget sunflower SEEDS. Honestly woman, if you don't give me a good reason you will not indulge in healthy, wholesome almonds, I'ma hurt you.
OK, have a chicken wing or sth then.
Honestly, you're giving me gas with your bird diet already, lazy bum! :giggle: You like it easy huh? OK, Harris Teeter sells sushi rolls and if you go before noon while the guy is making some, he can custom make one for you. At least "ours" does. I even asked him to wrap my Spicy Salmon with avocado like he does the Dragon (eel) roll and it was yum-o! He uses brown rice--at my request. :yay:
Or make some simple succotash. Throw some EVOO in a pan. Caramelize some sliced onions. Add a teaspoon of curry powder and fry for a bit stirring to stop it from sticking. Drain a can of corn (it's already cooked for crying out loud) and throw it in. Warm it for a minute or so, stirring so the flavors are well mixed. Drain a can of BEANS (Hallelujah for protein and it's cooked!!!) and throw that in and stir for a minute. Sprinkle some dried cilantro (No chopping necessary here either!!! ) and stir for a minute. Serve and enjoy. Stay home so you don't kill anyone when you start shooting bunnies (thanks to beans you see :giggle: Bean gas is deadly! ) or have some Beano beforehand ;). Oh oh oh...and the can folks know about you coz they now put corn and beans in cans with rings to open so you don't need a can opener. Life couldn't be easier!
Just find some protein and eat something filling. You're killing me woman. :dead:

Ahahahahahaha. Nonie, you are too much. I like Cashew nuts and peanuts, that's about it. I just got used to seeing my aunt's parrot eating Sunflower and other seeds, I'm not bird *squirm*
I eat at night, but I will stick the fruit during the day until better can be done. I'm actually making curried channa (Garbanzo or chick peas) with Tofu tonight. This is my first time eating Tofu, so I am looking for recipes. The one I got is from Wegman's and it's Caribbean Tofu, supposedly seasoned with all sorts of spices and stuff. So we'll see.
