Hi everyone! After some extensive research and information in a previous detox thread, I've decided to go with the Nature's Secret Ultimate Fasting Cleanse (http://www.vitacost.com/Natures-Secret-Ultimate-Fasting-Cleanse) and was lucky enough to convince my roommate to do it with me and are starting tomorrow.
I am relatively healthy with my diet and exercise, but these last two months saw 3 company holiday parties, 1 flu, 2 colds, 3 big family dinners, and countless catered lunches and baked goods from employees at work. I am feeling lethargic, bloated, heavy, and my skin has flared up from all the junk despite clearing up previously due to the Clarisonic. I just need a jumpstart to get back on track. I'm not looking to lose weight, but I will keep track just to see what this cleanse can really do.
The cleanse is only 5 days, so I will keep updating if anyone is interested. Wish me luck!:look:
ETA: I am currently 137 pounds, looking to get back down to 130 and toned again after work took over my life.

So I am coming to the end of my first day, and it has definitely been a challenge.
First, I just have to say that if you have an aversion to taking pills or just can't do it, you definitely will have a difficult time with this. I don't mind taking pills, but it starting getting difficult towards the end because you take 19-21 pills at one time, 3 times a day. That's over 60 pills!
The fiber drink HAS to be drank quickly, as it will start to congeal and thicken a little, which is not an appetizing thing. It doesn't taste too horribly, but I use a straw, which I would highly recommend, so I don't taste it too much.
I wasn't exactly hungry, but I did have the desire to chew and have something in my mouth and ended up going through nearly two packs of gum. All in all so far, it hasn't been so bad, but I know it's mostly due to the first day high that comes along with starting something new and good for yourself. The second day of these types of things is always the hardest.

That's actually a funny story. She is a producer for a morning news show here so she works crazy hours (2-10 AM). It was a stressful morning apparently because she came home with a Big Box Meal from KFC, and I nearly killed her. She had completely forgotten we were starting it today! That aroma from those chicken strips and potato wedges nearly got me, but I stayed strong. She is going to start tomorrow since she doesn't have to work tonight. I think she will have a hard time because she really went all out with eating bad today when it recommends you should take it easy the couple of days before to ease your body into fasting.:ohwell:

Congrats, Chantille! You did very well and I'm so proud of you. Keep your eye on the goal. I know how hard smelling food was. Even plain rice smells like a gourmet meal when you are on this diet. My hubby was kind to eat before I got home when I was on it. But I'm glad you didn't have headaches like I did. I hope you're drinking water or at least herbal teas. And yes, makes some juices. They work as a nice desert after that fiber drink. Those green pills were a pain to take. Good thing they are so tiny so I took five at a time. And I just reminded myself they are food for my cells and so bore it.
I am anxious to hear about day 2. And I especially look forward to the day when you start to feel so alive and like a new person. Do let us know how your roomie does too. LMAO at her bringing home KFC. :spank:

End of day 2 and UGH! LOL, it wasn't so bad, but definitely had a major challange.
I set my alarm this morning for my normal time because I was afraid to workout without knowing how I would feel. I actually woke up before my alarm and felt great--really energized and refreshed. I could have easily gotten through a moderate workout with no problem.
HOWEVER, I did wake up with a terrible headache. I drank a ton of water, took my pills and fiber drink (which seems to be getting worse and worse each time ), and headed to work. The headache would not go away. So I took some Advil and still nothing. So after another 10 minutes, I gave in and had a small handful of raw, unsalted almonds I keep stashed in my desk. Felt completely fine after 10 minutes, and I think it is what saved me from giving in at lunch. It was my first day back since Christmas eve and we had a special guest speaker which meant catered lunch (damn those), and wouldn't you know, it was California Pizza Kitchen, one of the few things I will let myself break a diet for a day. I did get through it though, and am now back at home after a long afternoon of lots of water and herbal tea.
My roommate started today and is doing fine. I think she tried mixing the fiber with organic, unprocessed apple juice and seemed to like it. I have been using a pomegranate/blueberry juice, but it was too sweet, so I diluted it today and it was better. I will try her apple juice tomorrow. I would love to try the juice recipe they offer but just don't have the energy to head to the store and don't have a juicer.
Also, there is a typo in the instructions. The colon cleansers are missing from lunch, but that didn't seem right. So I counted out the pills for the 5 days, leaving out the 2 pills missing from lunch, and ended up with 10 colon cleanser pills left. So I have been taking them at lunch too. I want my money's worth!!
ETA: I just tried the fiber with the apple juice. SOOOO much better, I highly recommend it!!

NOOOOO!!! It is not a typo! :lachen: It is correct. You will run out of them before Friday if you don't follow directions. The headache is a norm on day 1 and 2...and I'm a migraine sufferer so I know what you mean. I just bore it one time but another time I had to take Aleve...which sort undoes the detox a bit, but sometimes you just can't help it.
I hope you see this in good time not to take colon pills at lunch. It is NOT a typo. There is one part of the program that is not taken at lunch time.

Nooo, are you sure?! I counted them all out and had 10 colon cleansers left, everything else was done. Ok, I will trust you since you've done it. I guess taking those 4 extra colon cleansers the past two days didn't hurt, but I will follow the directions now, LOL. And thanks for the PM too!!

OK, ten colon cleansers. Today is day 2. Which means:
Morning 1
Evening 2
Day 3
Morning 1
Evening 2
Day 4
Morning 1
Evening 2
Day 5
Morning 1
Evening 2
So as you can see for Wednesday to Friday you need nine of them. Meaning you should have had eleven right now, not counting the one you had in the AM today. ;) Glad I caught you in good time. Chile, you gonn' get my pressure up! :dead:

on the back of the box it says that there are additional colon clear tablets in case you have "not achieved 2-3 bowel movements by following the directions, you may need to increase your intake by 1-2 tablets every day intil 2-3 bowel movements are achieved daily"
so i think that you are supposed to have some left over just in case
