This has been of some debate with some friends http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif, so thought that I would ask here:
How do you remove your make-up (sunscreen, foundation, etc.) at night?
I start by using Noxema and gently massage to remove all traces of the above. THEN I follow with Clinique's skin care line: soap and clarifying lotion, followed by Neutrogena Deep Pore (or Clear Pore) treatment.
This works for me. My skin stays clear and I barely breakout and I have combo skin.
Some friends start with the soap then use mostly a toner to remove what the soap didn't get off.
How do you do it?

I like to massage olive oil or avocado oil on my face to break everything up first. Then I wash with a gentle cleanser from Aubrey's or either Black soap. I'm using a toner from Earth Science right now because of the warm weather. I've been using unrefined shea butter as a moisturizer.
I like the Neutrogena Nightime Clear Pore treatment also, but I haven't used it in a while.

I use soap and then cleanse with toner but I am not the best source on the subjct because I have been having breakouts and as a result acne scars. Using Noxema first is a good idea! I may have to try that.

I start the process by using those Ponds Makeup removal towelettes to remove most of my makeup. Then I follow up with some Clinique foaming face wash, a tab of exfloitating scrub to remove even more gunk. The next step is optional and usually depends on how tired I am or how sticky my face feels( workouts, long day etc..) I apply Philosophy's 1 minute facial or Origins Never a Dull Moment get down deep into my pores http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Exhaling ... Lastly, after washing up ( again ) & drying, I apply a spritz of Earth Science Toner or Clinique's Toner... Wowzer... I have got it down to a science..

Wash my face with Neutrogena, then use Victoria's Secret Makeup Remover, then wash again, tone and moisturize.

Right now I'm using Avon's cleanser (oxygen cleanser), but when I'm done I'll be purchasing the one from Clear Skin that takes it all off including eye makeup, I'll follow up with a toner and then moisturize.
