Too tall for petite, too short for average. Help.

So I'm about 5'4. Obviously average height. Well, my pants don't seem to think so. Average cut pants are dragging the floor on me. I thought I could remedy this by buying petite sizes, but they look like I'm getting ready to walk through flood water.

I'm just guessing/assuming that since I have the torso of a midget, my pants aren't going as high up on my body as, say, a woman with a normal torso with a separate and defined back and waist. Mine sort of blends. :look:

So is there a brand that can remedy this or is it the tailor's life for me?

I would just get them hemmed. That's what I usually do to most of my pants. I'm 5'1, and even then some petites run big on me.

I've found that Banana Republic, Old Navy & Ann Taylor work for me. I'm 5'3 but I have longer legs than petite will fit. I get regular length in those brands and they fit perfectly. I also get mid or low rise (not ultra low) and that helps. On me those fits visually elongates since pants that sit or fit at the waist are unflattering and either too long or too short on me. I also got my inseam measured and I ask what the length is or I have them measure for me. I buy 31"-32" inseams. Shorter or longer than that will not work for me.

I'm about 5'4 (5'3.5 to be exact) too. I can only buy pants from one store-- Pay/Half. They have deeply discounted department store brands. I think the reason they tend to fit me is because they're slightly "irregular"-- hence the prices. :look:

Unfortunately, either altering longer pants or wearing heels with everything is going to your life. Some stores do alterations in the store so that will make it easier on you.

I'm 5'3 and I find even petite sizes are too long or either too short for me. So I just buy average and wear heels with those pants. Sucks being a shortie :ohwell:

I'm 5'1 and my legs are too long for petite bottoms also but I can usually get away with average bottoms because I live in heels.

I'm short as hell so I know where to buy petite jeans and whose petites are way too long some of which are: Charolette Russe Jeans, Old Navy, and jeans from Khols. You might want to try jeans from those stores and see if you like the length.
