but my face is very picky about cleanser--
*foaming cleansers work best for my skin which is combo normal/oily
*must foam without being too drying and without making skin feel tight & stripped
*must be suitable for sensitive skin which mine is

For the past 4 months I have been using Boscia Purifying Cleanser ($21) and it has been wonderful. It's a nice gentle cleanser that feels soothing to the skin, foams, doesn't irritate, doesn't overdry.

Before that I was using MK Timewise Cleanser for combo/oily skin ($18). It is nice also.

But like I said, spending $20 on cleanser is not my favorite activity. I recently picked up Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser at Ulta and have used it for a week. It seems to be a winner. It does everything I need it to do for $6.99. :yep:

I just wanted to share in case anyone is looking for a decent, basic cleanser at a decent price.

My derm always recommends this. It's ok!

I was using boscia and i liked it. I've used sveral enutrogena cleansers and they break me out in a rash..so I had to stop using them.

My face is very picky too. I use Aveda Purifying gel cleanser ($18) and my face love it. I use to wash my face with Neutrogena Transparent bar for acne ($2) for years....loved it, but my skin started acting funny toward it.

I know what you mean, but the smallest bottle of Aveda last me for 3 months so, I guess it's not to bad.

How long does your cleanser last you?

^^The Boscia lasts close to 2 months. The MK about the same

I always vote Clinique for these things. Their Liquid or Bar Soap has an extra mild formula and it's very good for sensitive skin types, but it is about $14. The product lasts me about 4 months, if not longer with daily use.

I have used this one before also Supergirl and loved it. The only reason I stopped was because my derm told me try out Cetaphil since I was using medication on my face. I just never went back to Neutrogena. But I remember really liking it!

I will have to try that. Right now I am using Cetaphil for normal to oily skin.

I was using the Neutragena one and thought I really liked it. But was never satisfied with my skin. A CoverFX rep told me to try a creamier cleanser, so I got a sample of the Rx for Brown Skin ultra-sensitive Bright and Healthy cleanser. I love it! Like the op, spending $20+ dollars on a cleanser kind of makes me cringe..but, in the long run it's worth it!

I use Cetaphil and Albolene.

I used to use Olay Foaming Cleanser, which worked well years ago.

I love Neutrogena cleansers. I never tried the one pictured, but I absolutely love their Extra Gentle Cleanser. It's a creamy, milky lotion. At night I like to massage it on and tissue it off.

The extra gentle cleanser and the oil free moisturizer by Neutrogena is a great combo for my sensitive skin. I like it too!! I've been using this since Olay discontinued their sensitive facial cleanser :ohwell:

Thanks for the recommendation! I bought some of this today with some of that new Ambi moisturizer. I needed a new cleanser and I like this one thus far. Doesn't make my skin itch!

My face loves Clinique and yea I may spend $50-60 (the whole 3 step) but it has lasted me since August and I and probably have a 3rd left.

Hey sweetie,

Does this brighten your face at all?

ETA: If the weather permits, I am going to the mall today to try out the Cover FX line. In your opinion, is it light enough for everyday wear?

Hey Supergirl, glad you found something you like that isn't expensive.

Do you remember way back when you were feature of the month in 2003? This picture (http://public.fotki.com/SupergirlJ/all_hair_all_the_time!/relaxed523_jpgphqb6.html) I think was either in your siggy or something around then but it was bigger and I remember how your skin had everyone's jaw hanging. I am trying to remember what you were using then coz I remember you being begged to share your secret. Do you remember?

HI TISHEE!!!!

My face definetly looks like it's brighter. It just looks healthy. Hopefully, it will continue to work great.

I can't cosign on the CoverFX for me. I tried a sample of both the cream and the liquid foundation. I didn't like it ON ME. (BUT, I will give it another go, just to be fair) I will say that one of the black managers at Sephora and the CoverFX rep (who is a black woman) swears by it and their faces always look GREAT!

Sorry about the tangent! To answer your question, if you don't need heavy duty coverage and you stay away from the Cream, it will be fine for every day wear. Try out the liquid foundation and they also have a mineral formula. Also, their primer is AWESOME!

HTH!

Have you tried the Cover FX Mineral FX Powder Foundation? It has been a wonderful product for me. :yep:
