I get a couple of hairs on my chin and I can't pluck them or use hair removal creme because I'll get ingrown hairs. They hurt and take FOREVER to get rid of. All I can do it cut them low and cover with makeup.

Can any one help me out. I will consider lazer hair removal in the future when I get my money right. If you have advice on the lazer removal that would be great too.

TIA

Are you plucking on a clean face?

You can still pluck the hairs without the risk of getting ingrown hair bumps. As soon as you pluck, you can either rub TendSkin on it or you can make your own mixture of alcohol, witch hazel, and about 15 crushed aspirin. Just remember to use either one once in the morning and once at night and it should stop ingrown hairs from forming.

I am so afraid of plucking/tweezing :ohwell: I used to use Nair on that area, but I had to do it too frequently and I heard stories of it causing discoloration. I started going to get it waxed, but ran into somebody who had NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE DOING. :nono:

Now, I just go get it threaded along w/ my lip and brows
(And here's a secret: It doesn't hurt as much as you'd think it would)

For the current ingrowns, I'd use a cotton swap to dab salicylic acid directly on them, and not on surround skin.

Well isn't threading a method of plucking, so you should get ingrowns too? I just started getting ingrowns around my upper lip and my chin area. i'm looking for answer as well. I'll try the witch hazel and aspirin thing.... and i'll try threading also, if it doesnt cause ingrowns.

I'm not sure about that, because then we could say that waxing is the same. All are methods of hair removal, but each method can give a different reaction.

i got fedup and did laser hair removal about a year ago. i used to pluck and some strands kept coming back thicker and left ingrowns and scars.

hair has grown back since but it is finer. the thick annoying ones are long gone. i would like to go back for a touchup though.
