Do you think its worth it to go shopping on BFD for clothing? Any particular stores having great sales on that day or weekend? I'm just debating on whether I should get some things today (Jeans, dress pants) or wait till BFD or the weekend when they may have more sales.

Hi Lady,
yes they will be having sales, but the stores are doing so bad right now that there will be big sales regardless

That's what I'm wondering - I've had my eye on a pair of boots from Nordstrom. Will Nordstrom be having a "black friday" sale...or should I just get over 'em??

Yea, I know about the half yearly sale going on right now - these boots were not part of the sale.

I found a couple of years ago, I had better sales on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I agree with the other posters that the sales will be there regardless since the economy is so bad.

:yep: We are >here<. That's exactly why I don't go to those things. If I can't stand dealing with crowds when I go shopping on regular days, it would be a crime for me to be out there on black Friday.

I'm not an angry person, I just don't take bull.

Rant: I woke up at 6am to go shopping. What.a.waste.

I am really on a tight budget but I couldn't find anything I really for a price that I enjoyed. I did see a cute dress at Express but even with discounts, it was still around $250. Also found a nice, basic tee that fit me well. Price was $40, too much IMO. I couldn't find any boots in my size that I liked

I left the malls early today. I only spent $50 today and I'm probably going to return the items. Such a disappointing day to shop.

Also, I noticed most of the stores weren't really having the blowout sales like they have in the past. Instead, they would have like 3 or 4 racks of clothing on sale....for about $3 off the regular price. I did notice the people coming out of Target were hauling a bunch of electronics so they must be having a good sale. I may have to go there later today and score some things for my dad and brother.

Today was my first Black Friday. I looked at some of the websites for certain stores last night (like Best Buy, Kohl, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Office Depot, Circuit City...I was more into electronics). After all that damn planning, I overslept and woke up at 6:15...when some of the stores started at 4 AM and 5 AM. Surprise, surprise...most of the stuff I wanted was gone, but I did score some essential things that I needed.

In regards to clothing, I printed off the Macy's coupon, but I was looking at the exclusions on there and it looks like all the designers I like are excluded, so I passed on that. The mall has a website that they continue to update and there are supposedly people at the entrances handed out flyers on where the sales are. There are some cute boutiques in downtown Ann Arbor (that have some of the more designer stuff) that are having sales, but I am tired.

I am not sure all this hype is worth it. I hate malls. I will continue to look online for the deals.

I didn't even bother and I usually go EVERY year. They didn't have anything in the ads that made me want to come out. I'll try for cyber Monday.

I went outlet shopping at 10p on thanksgiving day.....it was craaazy out there. I bought half of the gifts i needed and was that beast by 1:30.

I wanted to nap..then get up at 6a for the mall but couldn't. So i slept in...and drove to the mall around 1ish. Which is fine cuz there really wasn't anything out there anyway. I bought the last of my gifts from trusty ol' Macys...and got a couple of items for myself. Good thing was that everything I got wasn't a morning special...so i didn't HAVE to wake up at the crack of dawn to get the deal..

..now i'm all shopped out.

If you went to a smaller mall I think you faired better....huge malls were probably too crazy

Bebe- really didn't have that good sales. I got one top for $29 (which meant it was $50 off) and a dress for 50% off
Express- two pants which came up to 50% off each. I am returning one tomorrow

Guess- had some great sales! I got 60% already reduced clothes so I got $90 pants for $20. I also got a beautiful jacket/blazer for 60% off

next BF I will head straight to Guess since they had good deals. The others you saved an extra 25% off whatyou would get at a regular day's sale
