Is anyone going to any of the inaugural galas? Do you already have your gown or have one in mind?
I wonder if there will even be a gala. The way the media is talking about celebrating while the economy is in a down spiral.

At first I thought I would definitely go to a gala, but looking at these ticket prices (the cheapest one I've seen so far is $250), I may not be able to swing it.

Come on ladies what you rocking for the inauguration? I haven't decided 100% but I have 2 choices in mind. One is is kind of a weird mauveish, reddish color and the other one is an emerald green. Both are long..not sure on the accessories for either:lachen:I am so last minute on stuff!!

im goin shoppin today for a gown----for two balls one on sunday and one on monday----
i am def lookin for something long--off the shoulder--i got so many ideas from what was worn at the golden globes--im thinking a rich ruby red--against caramel skin tone would be best for me and a simple blk dress with a stand out broch or accessories

I'm shopping Saturday, but I'm more concerned about my feet. I'd like to find a sexy pump that can withstand the cold and standing for hours.

Mine is long. I had to have it hemmed. I'm nit sure what shoe I will go with but it has to be a 3 and 1/2 inch heel since thats what I had it hemmed with.

The shoe thing is one of the things I am worried about because of all this walking, riding the Metro, being cold, etc.

Sure thing!

My cousin just bought out tickets for a gala last night. The problem is, I don't have money to buy a ballgown. We are going to the Southern Regional ball (even though we are not southerners!LOL!). The only black dress I have is this one from The Avenue (plus-size store).

Will I be laughed out of the ball? Do you think I can dress this up?

Do you know if the gala is "Black Tie?"..if so, you might want to look into getting more of a formal.
I think this dress can be dressed up though. Nice evening shoes, jewerly and a bag.
