Does anyone know of any products/ any methods to make your skin darker or regain pigment to your skin with out tanning or using tanning creams. I had a bad experience with prescription fading cream (which works wonders, by the way, when used carefully) resulting in the area around the scar lighting too much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hydroquinone USP, 4%. ( I had a similar experience years ago with Tri-Luma cream and those areas are still lighter as well.):ohwell: They both will fade your skin in a matter of days (3 to 7 in my experience, depending on how old the scar/blemish is and a few other factors,) you just have to be extremely careful.)

Yea it does reduce your pigmentation .But remember drugs like hydroquinone can't be used just by yourself these type of drugs have many side effects so make sure you don't use it in sunburn areas or liver disease or kidney disease. For these condition dose adjustment is required.. so visit a dermatologist before applying..

You're lucky, Hydroquinone 4% is over the counter for us here in Canada..
I've been using it for years, many many years... 10 actually, and it doesn't work that fast for me.. i usually give up after a month or so...

for darkening of lighter rings, (i have light rings around my eczema, due to my medication) what i do is use a tanning skin cream that I got at walmart.
I know you specifically said no tanning lotions, but it works really well,
and even on photo shoots, it really evens out the color of my light marks...

I think it's L'oreal sunless bronzer.. in medium. (if i could find dark in canada, i'd use that too!)
