I don't work out AT ALL right now, and I'm trying to GAIN weight and definately NOT lose it. Do you think going to the gym ONE day a week for weights and maybe a little treadmill (I have no idea what I'm talking about here) and walking 2 days a week will do anything for me? And if so..what? I just don't want to be lazy and want to get in the habit of doing SOMETHING. TIA
Yes, even if you are not interested in losing weight, you should definitely still do something to strengthen your heart and get your cardiovascular moving and keep your bones nice and strong.
Walking, jogging, or running outside or on a treadmill would be great for your overall cardiovascular health. And weightlifting will help you to build strong muscles and bones.
I think the suggested amount of time is at least three times a week of moderate intensity exercise is beneficial. You might even gain weight because muscle is heavier than fat! And, plus, you will have more energy. Yes, I'd say make regular exercise part of your lifestyle!

Buying new work out clothes usuallys motivates me http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif well at least for the first couple of weeks http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Spanish, you are funny, girl. How is the self-control challenge going for ya?
Datjerseydyme, I think part of the motivation comes from the accomplishment of actually doing it. The more you do it, the better you feel about yourself, then the more you want to keep it up.
I also keep a little journal that I write in to keep track of my exercise and my progress. I write down time exercised, distance ran or walked, calories burned, whether it was a "good workout" or "great." It's amazing to read back when I first started and I could barely run for a good block to nowadays when I can last two miles!!
Like the ads used to say, "Just do it!" Start wherever you are, and keep going.
