Trick or treating? What do you think?

Do you allow your children to go trick or treating? Or, do you think trick or treating is "celebrating" Halloween?


What are your thoughts?

When we converted we no longer allowed our children to go trick or treating. It is part of celebrating Halloween. We also didn't allow them to attend substitutes events either like the ones where the kids dress as biblical characters.

I believe it is a "Pagan" custom. I don't participate in any festivities, parties, etc. and have never encouraged my child to do so.

We do not do halloween but an hallejuah festival with biblical characters. Halloween does not glorify God. Only celebate holidays that God can be glorified in it and it show loves and thanks for others.

I'm going through a struggle with my unsaved husband because he wants the kids to dress up like ugly things and go trick or treating. Whereas the church myself and the children attend do a huge Fall Festival on October 31st. Carnival games, rides, apple boobing a fun event for the community no costumes allowed. Last year we had 4,000 youth on the campus. My kids had a absolute ball as well did I. I never celebrated Halloween growing up it was consider a pagan holiday. I don't understand the fascination with it.
