I'm sitting here right now because I'm so scared to walk up to my therapist's office. It's a three hour walk and I think I took on too much too soon... I'll probably chicken out and call a ride. I'm afraid something's going to happen to me. Agh! I'm so disappointed in myself.

What do you think is going to happen to you? Three hours is a long time to walk. Maybe you can walk part of the way and take public transportation the rest.

why are you walking three hours? That's a long walk and then you would have to walk back. If you want to walk some how about you catch the bus and get off a few stops early and walk the rest of the way.

It was just motivation to get out there - walk to one of my appointments today.

I don't know! I'm scared that I'll be mugged or something worse.

Is it in a bad neighborhood? Also 3 hours is a long way to walk then you have to walk back. I don't want you to overexert yourself. That seems like a lot.

That's a very long walk. Follow your intuition - don't walk.

Well if you feel like that than maybe you shouldn't walk. I walk in my neighboorhood for about an hour all the time and I am never scared. The worst thing I have to worry about (I think) is snakes. The last place I lived I would walk in the morning before daylight and the neighboorhood wasn't so nice :nono:. My husband use to always tell me that I was crazy but I was never scared there either. I don't scare easily but you should do what makes you comfortable.
