I know I got that doctor's name wrong (can't remember her name exactly). But, other people on this board have posted about her before as some of the members of this board are patients of hers.

Well, she is selling skin care products on TV now specially formulated to help keep Black skin clear.

They are called Skin Salon Gold. I saw the infomercial last night.

You get a cleanser, day/night cream, fade cream and acne medicine (with some extra goodies) for $39.95.

Has anyone seen the commercial or tried this stuff? Was wondering if any of her clients on this board have used her stuff.

Sheryl Lee Ralph hosts the informercial and is the so-called creator of the products, but she interviews the dermatologist during the show and introduces her as the formulator of the products.

The main ingredient seems to be glycolic acid.

Hi BlkMane, /forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif

I've seen the commercial a couple of times. I thought that doctor's name sounded familiar. Are you thinking about ordering it?

For now, I won't be ordering. Unless I hear some rave reviews or something. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a glycolic acid skin care system (Glytone). I would have to see what makes her product so different from everything else that is out there.

I just saw the infomercial for the first time this morning and was coming on the board to make a post about it (should have known that you ladies were already on top of it:). Dr. Jeanine Downie's name sounded so familiar and I couldn't remember if I'd heard it here or in one of the many magazines or TV programs they say she's been featured on. The products sound very tempting (especially that too-good-to-be-true fade cream), but I think I'll also wait until (a) I hear success stories or (b) I use up all the skin care products I already have! I wish there was an exfoliating scrub in the pack, and I wonder why there's no sunscreen in the products. I'm always more than a little put off when the women in a skin care infomercial wear a ton of makeup (like they do in this commercial) when they're shown cleansing or moisturizing their face. Sheryl Lee Ralph's hair looked good though!

I'll be ordering the products on Friday. After seeing the infomercial on Sunday I became very tempted. Everyone's skin on the infomercial looks so beautiful! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll come back with my results in a few weeks.

Hi guys!
I got my order after what seems like forever http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ! I've been using the products for about 3 wks now. I have combination skin, dry patches and oily spots, and I have seen a big difference. I had dark spots which are lightening up, and my all over tone has improved. I especially like the products with the sparkles in it. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hello Ladies,

My mother has been using this line for about two months now, and her skin looks really good. It has helped reduce her acne, has lighten up her skin or is it the glow, and makes her skin have a more youthful appearance. I think is has been doing wonders for her skin.

She was using Proactive a couple of yrs ago and it seemed to have worked..but anyhows i just thought you guys should now http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Maybe individual results does vary http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I think I am going to let my mother experiment with this one. She has tried practically everything on the market.

Thanks,

Just an FYI, they're now selling this product line on QVC. I saw an advertisement yesterday for a presentation by Sheryl Lee Ralph. I didn't see the pitch though.

How is the skin care line working for those who use it? Does the fading cream really work?

Just an FYI Jeanne Downie is my doctor and she says the products (since sold over the counter) have a lower dosage of glycolic acid and they are okay, but the MD Forte products have higher dosages of the glycolic acid and etc. The last time I went to her office (earlier this year) she didnt even sell the skin salon line. BUT MD Forte she sells.

My mother purchased this from QVC and she said that she has more acne now than before using these products.

She said that she will go back to using Nivea skincare.

I used it for about a month, it was a waste of money for me. I don't have cne but I have an oily t zone, the cleanser didn't work well at all, it is a runny cream and my face never felt clean.
