Aww that's too bad to hear. I was planning on buying some since I keep hearing what a good replacement for sugar it is. So, can you describe the taste? What was it that you didn't like about it if you don't mind me asking?

I tried about 6 different brands before I found the one I like. Have you tried the liquid stevia? That one is pretty good. I get it from Whole Foods. The brand I use on the regular is Stevita...it tastes great:yep:

There is also a product called Z Sweet which is made from erythritol and it is supposed to be better than other natural sweeteners. I tried it and it was good but I didn't want to have to order it online so I stick to my stevita.

I also found that making a large pitcher of lemonade with the stevia helped me to get used to the taste. The lemons also help to overpower that grassy taste.

The one I tried recently is liquid. Before, I tried packets.
Shunta,
It is hard to describe the taste. I don't know if you've ever tasted sweet 'n' low by itself, well it's kind of like that but X100. :(

I was gonna say which form are you trying? I have some powder Stevia which is bad and I hve 2 different liquid Stevia's . One is clear and a thick liquid like syrup by NOW which is sweet and my preference.
The other liquid I have is brown and more watery and takes a lot to make my drinks sweet. I guess because it's supposed to be natural it varies in consistency and sweetness.
So try a different brand maybe you'll like it better.

Awh thats too bad. I love Stevia! It took a little getting used to...but it wasn't hard. I will never go back to splenda. But anywho it tastes like sugar with a bitter aftertaste. Have you tried NuStevia...it promotes that it doesn't have the after taste (non-bitter)?

Me too! Stevia, sweet n low, splenda, even honey all taste wrong to me. Plain ol' sugar (beet or cane) and agave nectar are the only "sweetners" I use.

I use Stevia (packets) in my tea and love it.
But i cant drink it in anything else, it tastes weird, unexplainably weird.

I can't either. I went to Native Sun and bought the packets. I have 3 boxes of the stuff. One is SweetLeaf and the other is Stevia powder.
If anybody wants it pm me and you can have them.

Well, I definitely won't be buying it then.:nono: Sweet 'n' low by itself tastes terrible! Thanks for the feedback, hun. :)

This is what I use and I've been using it so long that regular sweeteners taste so nasty to me now. I guess its an acquired taste. I hope you find something you like Supergirl.

I don't like stevia either. I keep some at home just in case, but i rarely use it.

I've never used Stevia but I have used agave before. It was pretty good. I would like to substitute and use it regularly, but it is expensive.

I don't like it either.
I don't do the artificial sugars either. I read ALL the labels. It is surprising that artificial sugar is in so much stuff - cold meds, mouthwash! :look:
Anyway, like Sareca, I stick with plain old sugar.
I never use a lot of sugar anyway, so it is my treat and I enjoy a tablespoon of it in my coffee EVERY morning. :yep:

Didn't like that either. :look: I guess I just did not like these in my coffee. Both of them ruined it for me.
I may like it in other stuff - Maybe in baked foods or something. But, in my coffee - nah!
It is funny though. Some of my favorite Yogi Teas have stevia and I love them. The Fit Smart Shake that taste so good also has it.
Again, I think it is the concentration and maybe the actually thing you are eating.

I like Stevia. I use a brand of stevia called SweetLeaf Stevia Plus.

AMEN! I felt the same way and was happy to give it away after two uses. I don't even like Splenda which most people say is an improvement on Sweet 'n Low. When I'm not having sugar, I use Xylitol. It is so much nicer: tastes like sugar and looks like sugar w/o being sugar. It's made from a plant. And is good for your teef.
Xylitol (http://www.xylitol.org/)
Supergirl, stevia is good used topically on your skin. When the search function is up, do a search for a thread by Isis. I bought green-tea to go satchets and they had stevia as sweetener. Gross! But as a face mask and scrub, they were good. I'm always uneasy about trying new things so I only did it once or twice.

It took me awhile to find one that did not bite.
This is my current fave...
